Wow! Those leaves look like they had somehow escaped fall and stayed on the trees. All of them were dead ringers for the leaves I have always admired since I first went into the woods, with the holly some how saying that it was a real leaf with a silver coat, the way you got the bend and the spikes was just perfect holly, one of my favourite shrubs. I planted 72 holly bushes that have made a super hedge and are a late autumn/early winter well visited free super market for the berry eating birds, 99%+ of the berries were gone before this last Christmas. Thank you for sharing!

Delightful work! It almost seems like you must have forge welded in the center stem on the first batch of leaves, but I guess there was enough material from the previous forge welds to make it work. Thanks for sharing your work and processes!
@joshuadelisle
@joshuadelisle 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Bryson. I actually Tig welded a little extra on the stem to get more length but if I thought about it I could have left a bit more material when forge welding and that would have given enough length in the end. Cheers J

Very nicely done. I use a longer V swage to bend the leaves in the middle, but I like the V fork you have. Are you still using the micro-controller on the hammer? The stems are fairly easy to forge out on the hammer if you want a seemless connection to the leaf.
@joshuadelisle
@joshuadelisle 2 жыл бұрын
Hammer is still going well with the Arduino. You see I used it a little in this video. You're right about about forging out the stems but I liked to give extra thickness to make them more robust on this project as they may get a lot of abuse over the years with lots of heavy coats tugging on them.
