i wanna beg to differ on one of the answers given ....God can influence minds but God doesnt change the minds of anyone...God isn't an enforcer of his will on anyone.If God can(He has the power to do all things but God is bound by the principles of his word) change the minds of anyone, the world will not be what it is right now... ..so there are situations where parents irrespective of what is done...prayers and all, they still don't consent to you marrying someone...The most important factor is that you are certain that God spoke to you...not a guess...you have walked with God and you are assured by all necessary convictions that you heard God. there have been real occasions like that. obedience to parents is not absolute in life, but, rather, loyalty to jesus is Matthew 10:35-37...and it is important to say that irrespective of what the decision you make is, don't let there be a spirit of defiance towards your parents, humility is the very important...as important as the parental blessings are, the spiritual stands above the physical or the natural...it is their blessing you need, not their control in deciding who to marry( but this is done in all humility)...Genesis 2:24 A man shall leave is father and mother and be joined to his wife...and lemme reiterate that whatever the case is, do all things in humility and in the fear of God.
