@Gymantis Right now we have a store locator on the domain format website that shows all the stores that officially support domain format, but you can always ask people in your locals to try it out with you. If you mean online duels, we currently don't have a way of finding games without the discord server since we're still a fledgling community, and many dueling websites/programs don't support 4 player free for all duels.

Important thing for everyone to realize, you can only summon your deck master 6 times before it kills you. 7500lp for 5 additional summons. and if someone burns you for 500 you can only summon 5 times total. also you are facing 3 opponents with 18 cards to interrupt you with.

That latter notion introduces a political element to the game very much like commander in magic - people gang up on table wide threats, so reducing what you play turn 1 to limit how much people see you as a threat is much bigger in this format. I think it adds taste, but political games can and often will devolve into personal vendettas.

Idk if the rules work exactly this way but if you make your deck master number 103 ragnazero you get a water/fairy and you get the “number” archetype which opens up rhongonyniad and shock master.

Decided to build my own domain deck while I watched this. I ended up making a dragon deck with Dragunity Areadbhair as my deck master so I could use dragons and winds. Why wind? Well, Galaxy Tomahawk and Auroradon are wind and the Dragon Rulers are, of course, dragons. Along with the fact that all the Guardragons, Dark Matter, and Eclipse Wyvern are all playable, the deck is absolutely nuts. First test hand I did I ended with Borrelend, Savage w/Triple Burst equipped, Spheres, Baronne, Regained to revive Druiswurm, and Max Metalmorph to tribute the Druiswurm or Magnamhut summoned off Spheres to bring out Fullmetal

That's pretty impressive, just keep in mind that building a huge board in domain format will make the other players go after you, so be sure you can hold them off before you can start going in for big damage.

I'm not a domain expert, but wouldn't it be better to put another WIND Dragon as a deck master that starts your plays or makes use of most of your main deck cards instead? Something like Arma Gram or Arma Leyvaten, Mystletainn, Dragunity Dux, ecc

Kind of depends. having multiple copies of a boss monster can be quite the win condition. Often depends on the deck build itself more than just the DM

But if the boss monster is a main deck one with a proper summoning condition it would be better than using an extra deck monster I think, unless the extra deck monster would be required in 2-3 copies. Honestly its super interesting in this form, cards like titanocider and vivid trail that infinitely recur themselves are so strong. Same with easy to recur bodies such as eldlich and morganites as well, the new one and the old one must be good in this format.

I play Branded, with Titaniklad as the DM. It's a dark, which opens up Predaplants, a dragon, which opens up Bystials, and mentions Albaz and Dogmatika. It also has a power level that's easily scaled forward or back. Like Commander, you have to actually talk with your opponents to work out exactly what kind of game you want to have, a skill Yugioh players desperately need to pick up.

The whole time I was thinking King of the Swamp (aqua) allows you to make Rulkallos easily too if you don't get access to Kitkallos. Also Eldlitch seems too good to not include in a deck running that many traps, as a recursive boss monster or allowing you to pitch dead traps from hand.

If you *need* or *want* a particular effect, you will run as many as you deem necessary for your deck.

You could probably make a funny HERO deck with all of the random archetypal/bad fusion spells over the years. Not sure whether you'd want your deckmaster to be Stratos (no special summon condition means it always takes your Normal, but the searcher seems powerful) or maybe Faris (gives you an extra body for fusion/link nonsense, but if you draw the garnet Increase or Vyon you'll be in trouble as you search up the fourth best Vision Hero... Minimum Ray... Maybe if there's more back and forth combat in this format you could do some nonsense with Spirit of Neos? The more I talk about this the more copium it seems

FYI, you can only properly summon your deckmaster. Not activate effects that would special summon them, you cant activate any effects in the deckmaster zone. If it was worded like Cyber Dragon with a built in summon, it would work. But that pesky colon means it activates

Centur-Ion would be really strong because it plays on the opponent’s turn and accrues free advantage every End Phase. This is a Battle Royale style format with multiple opponents so you get to reset the OPT clauses multiple times before your turn rolls around. The only problem is that you’d never get off the ground with how easily the deck is interrupted and the deck won’t be consistent enough with Gargoyle being worthless for starting combos.

According to Yugioh Commander, cards that are treated as multiple attributes such as LaDD and Invoked Elysium do in fact count as having all of them in their Domain. "That's broken!" You might say, but the dude has a video explaining why that's not really the case. Suffice to say that, yeah, you can have a monster that's all attributes as your deck master, but due to all of them basically being vanilla monsters, that hamstrings you about as much as helps you.

I assume you have access to Darks such as Aluber, Dragons such as Bystials and every card mentioning Albaz in its text.

You would only have access to Dark and/or Dragon monsters. You can still play Branded with a Chaos deck master or the Lubellion/Albion fusions since they let you play Light and Dark monsters, which is almost all of the albaz stuff.

As always people need to be realistic, that ygo by nature is not a game that target these type of market, it's focus on their domestic audience and market. To make it happen you have to make the Japan side of the playerbase to rally Konami making this format supported, if you can't then sorry no amount of complaints would work and if people quiting and profit in red, Konami would straight up discontinued the game in the west.

I know the Time Wizard Format is not fully supported by Konami, but they still hold the Time Wizard format often for OTS and many TCG events. Maybe the Domain Format can grow like the Time Wizard format right now.

​@@uuh4yj43 people like commander the format, but wizards has been on a race to make product designed for other formats sell to commander players too, so much so that powercreep has been skyrocketing exponentially in magic in general, since Commander is an eternal format. Modern Horizons II pushed the envelope on that, and we got Nadu which was a horrendous play experience for modern and legacy, then after the ban, wizards said in a blog that the card was designed for commander and that they also didn't playtest the version that went into print...

@uuh4yj43 The actual play mechanics of the format itself is generally fine, however WotC started printing overpowered cards in every product specifically geared towards commander players, which negatively affected the health of all other formats, most of which WotC just let die. Then, there is the influx ultra-competative players entering a casual format and infinite-comboing with T3 kills. Then, you have the establishments which sell singles raising the prices of certain cards that are bad everywhere else but great in commander, so a 10c common would be inflated and sell for 12$. Then there is the ban committee, which have a special interest in protecting their investments, and so sell off, or quickly buy up, cards they themselves know, and determine, if those cards will be banned or unbanned.

Yugioh is still a very consistent game even with the deck building restrictions. It's going to depend on how you build your deck, but you can still get your important plays out with some non-archetypal backrow to protect you pretty consistently.
