If FK are anything to go off of, merlantean should be getting around 3-4 more cards too with at least 1 ocg exclusive. that last card should 100% have been a quickplay. and to make it even better, should have had text saying "this is treated as the effect of a water monster" and let you destroy monsters on the field for the fire effect

They made a fire king vs atlantean card but gave a far better effect if you use it in fire king which is a deck ten times better than atlantean. This is peak card design.

This stuff def seems powerful, but idk if it’s enough of a consistency boost to make the deck worth. It’s been years since I’ve seen a merlantian list that wasn’t chock full of bricks, and idk how much rectifies that. I guess we’ll see, but I don’t have a lot of faith, though i would love to be wrong.

Some lore Mermail and atlantean lore wise have been fighting since the atlanteans wanted their treasure to attack fire island So why are these cards mermail and Atlantean at the same time? Its cause they are now united! Thanks to neptabyss, who was the atlantean prince previously and is now the mermail king We have no idea what lead to his birth and how he got the two of them to work together but you can tell this happens after the fighting with how you can see lemuria above water behind it

Am I missing something? The equip spell card activation is once per turn, but not the activation of the effects. So you could revive your whole graveyard, including the new shadow bodyguards, make everything level 7 for the new xyz, detach 2, bounce 3 cards (non targeting), overlay itself for another and it still has 2 materials to bounce again??? Please tell me I'm not missing something 🙏🏼

The revive effect is on activation I believe, since you need to equip it to the summoned monster

Not only is the deck weak to handtraps... but it is so engine heavy that even trying to run non-engine to fight through handtraps or break boards just decreases the consistency to a point where you'll open awful hands that just brick or lose instantly to 1-2 handtraps

As an insect enjoyer, don't bother looking at the insect cards. They insect lock with no new endboard pieces so back to waiting for the Resonance Insect breaker.

I mean, Resonance Insect now has a new searcher that summons it then sends it to GY, so that's going to be a staple in pure Insect decks from now on. And the new Battlewasp lvl 5 & Continuous Spell is just Simoon that can be searched by Resonance Insect. The Synchro 12 isn't insane, but it can still be a good endboard piece if we can set up consistent ways to banish it on the opponent's turn for a field wipe.

Yeah Konami finally gave us Blue-Eyes support that functionally fixes a good deal of its clunkyness now all they need is a easy to cheat out monster negate to cheat out monster negate and 1 or 2 more 1 card combos and Blue-Eyes will be tier 1 again. I also commend Konami for choosing the Spirit Dragon route because it was the obvious choice and the choice that they'd have the smallest chance of screwing up possible. Worst case scenario it'll probably be tier 1 anyways because of the Fiendsmith and Phantom of Yubel engines. But I hope they do get a way to negate Nibiru so that they are more likely to stay timelessly good. My hope is that Calamity is banned so more decks can be allowed to flourish the way that this one does. A lot of people say that not every deck needs to be good but I can't think of anime characters deck other than Yugis' Dark Magician deck thats more deserving of becoming tier 1 than Kaibas' Blue-Eyes deck. It has gotten over looked by Konami and had its support screwed up so many times while other anime decks got better than it that its about time they joined up with decks like Red Dragon Archfiend. I'm just glad that when other people doubted my belief that Konami could make Blue-Eyes good again that I was right and they weren't. Heres the thing if your Spirit Ultimate is destroyed I'm pretty sure it can revive Spirit Dragon and I'm pretty sure that Spirit Dragon isn't once per turn either.

Ceolacanth makes Abyssrhine better and allows you to play through 2 hand traps when combined with Big Jaws, Drake, Aegirine, and Abyssocea. You only need 1 Ceolacanth because you can recycle it with Sea Nettle(Which is also a extender.). Neptabyss the Atlantean Prince is good I just feel like if you do it like that your playing to hard into Droll. You could run both but if I had to chose between the 2 Abyssocea is more hand trap conscious.

Moulinglacia isn't even a good card anymore in 2024 1) it requires huge setup 2) It's a dead card going 2nd and even going 1st it's a brick 3) making your opponent discard 2 isn't even always bad, some decks would plus off of it

Also it's not THAT hard to setup now. OCG has shown combos with the new support both with and without Mouling. I'd be happy if they cut the card because of it being a possible brick but I doubt that'll be the case

Ive been playing mermails for years and i cannot believe our support is this shit. It doesnt really allow us to do anything competitive. Why is konami so afraid of water. Even that last spell, destroying the fire monsters does something for fire decks but discarding water has no inherent benefit unless its by the effect of a water monster. Feels bad man

@@kal7rider780 Fire Fist is a snoozefest of a control deck based upon attacking with Bear and setting Tenki. That will never be a good strategy again. Yes, they can make it into a combo deck but it's stupid when they change control decks into combo decks like they did with Altergeist. Might as well design a brand new archetype instead.

there's several 1.5 card combos that ends with 2-3 hand rip and several interactions. The weaknesses to floodgates are there, but these are solid supports.
