Those old aluminum bottle cap banjos sound great played in the old time style. Great playing .

This is loads more interesting than the Josie tune (via Stamper) I used to know. Highschool Graduation fun as it was meant to be! Thanks for doing this, Joseph.

Just stumbled upon this Joe.... that’s one of the coolest tunes I’ve heard in a long time. Is that double c tuning or sandy river belle? I’m digging it.... you even stopped my gal in her tracks.... she says “ that guy’s really good! “

I'm glad you like it! I'm playing it out of standard here gDGBD. The fretless is just tuned low.

@@JosephDecosimo I am just a beginning player Joe… by tuned all low I don’t know what you mean. I tried an entire octave lower and it’s a mess. I’m happy to perhaps take an online lesson.

@@rayclark8919 sorry for the confusion! The lesson part of the video here is in standard gDGBD tuning. It's just the first bit on the funky banjo that's tuned lower. If you put your banjo gDGBD, you can mess with the second half of the video. If you want to connect for an online lesson, use this form and I'll be in touch: www.josephdecosimo.com/contact

Do you need specific strings to tune a banjo as low as your first one? I've tried tuning my entry level barns and mullins thing but at a full step it starts to lose intonation

Great lesson Joseph Does the tune have three distinct parts? Thanks.
@JosephDecosimo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does have 3 parts.

@@JosephDecosimo Thanks: Love your playing and the history that goes with the tune. It sounds just like an old u-tube video of Charlie Acuff playing it
