Yo I am glad you mentioned the beef , cause it does make the weight of this way heavier though I wanna say this real quick, I f's with you heavy scru for sure. but when it comes to battle rap and such, you're kind of like Goku where you are hungry for the fight, always hyped for battle. But not everybody in hiphop is the same, some people enjoy the craft and that's it, which is why not everybody is really eager to start whole disstrack wars. Of course I understand to you it's part of the philosofy of "battle rap" and hiphop, but in this day and age, and certainly in the nerdcore community, I think not everybody is as excited to go that deep into the 'petty" route of constantly going back and forth. Sometimes it's necessary to state something to wake someone up, and move from there y'know. Which is, as fun as a slick comeback would be- that's just blowing the whole 'beef" or whatever out of proportion. Words may not physically hurt but rap and disses have always spiraled out of control in the history of hiphop, we can't forget that not everybody just enjoys the sportsmanship in it from your perspective. but hey that's just my idea ofc.
@aceofspade21203 жыл бұрын
This. This was the comment I was looking for. Battle Rap is a PART of Hip-Hop, not the core. Honestly it started with the cypher, then grew from there. Battle rap started with the egos got involved from the battles of the DJs and people trying to prove they are better. Can battle rap be entertaining? Of course. Is it the soul of rap? Never. That will be the day hip-hop died. Most rap beef is lukewarm at best and not immaculate. Anime rap, nerdcore isn't for that. This was a well-crafted song as a warning for people to stay in their lane and we all grow together. Slick is one of those crabs in a barrel that's trying to drag dirt into it all. We want more masterful songs of the craft like Dizzy and Rustage have been doing. Not that wack ass Slick swordsman cypher. When you get a bunch of artist to have beef with your target cause you think it's strength in numbers, you just expose your weakness. DPS vs Slick, DPS will body him 15 out of 10 times. It's not even close. He Krillin to Vegeta right now

Scru, as much as I like you and your stuff the true words and meaning of this track went over your head. It's not about fighting back and firing shots, it's in fact the exact opposite. This song is DPS essentially saying "I don't wanna fight you no matter how hard you try and make me". DPS was talking in a way that was telling Slick that there was no real need for beef. Man's was saying, "I just wanna talk to you, because I can still open the door and let you in. But every time I do I'm shot at, so who's the one acting childish?" DPS in this shit is the equivalent of a man walking up to a fight with his hands in his pockets. The other guy throws all of the blows, and he don't even try to dodge, he just takes 'em. And at the end he still stands with his hands in his pockets, unmoved from the spot he was in. He may have bruises and bones broken, blood drawn, but he won. Because at the end he simply said "Are you done now? Good." Then walked away.

From what I’ve seen from KZbin posts slick just felt like people were jumping on his unique style of general anime raps which is an eh take because it’s not like most of these artists accidentally or intentionally make songs on the same anime topic in such a short span anyway. I think the scene has evolved to the point where just counting on references won’t get you much but I also think that certain people in the community can just try and borrow from others to furnish their own unique style. Either way this feels very neutral.

@@DonniedrakoE he seems to think he has more sway in the community than he does, and got a rude awakening when everyone called him on his bullshit. He doesent want to be a part of the community, he is here for money, and I think he just got pissed off that more successful creators are getting more plays on their songs. I mean his Twitter bio is just his rates, he has no personality to display, he just wants money.

@@choaspunishment6266 it could be seen as either tbh. Whether or not DPS was targettig slick directly, he was definitely going ham on the people who were hating on the nerdcore community. Since slick was (at the time) lashing out at the nerdcore community, this track applies to him too.

This might be the only video of yours I regret watching, not cause it was bad or anything, but I didn't know anything was happening on Twitter cause I don't have one. Now I wanna pause after every line and analyze for double, triple, and quadruple meanings behind them all. And you said the Twitter thing has been going on for a bit, was it happening when he made "walk", was he talking to someone with that first verse until the tiktok part? Also imma just come back to this comment to add my thoughts on what's being said, since all I know about the situation came from this video I'm probably bias as fuck. Fair warning

He might be addressing anyone with an opinion with the song in general, but the "yea I know" and "it's all I know" feel more like internal monologue. Like when someone is like "why the fuck am i doing this" "I got better shit to do" "fuck it, since I'm doing it let's get this done my way" type shit

"Look at my cowlick" "staring at every follicle" " thought you could fuck wit me how'd it go" sounds like "listen up I put what's mine right in front of you, you inspected it down to the last hair, still tried to start shit (and failed obviously), so tell me what you learned
