avdol was a fakeout while one of the biggest goals of stone ocean was getting the discs back to save jotaro.

Well i remember reading that Araki himself stated he WAS going to get Avdol killed by Hol Horse. But then he realize that he didn't used Avdol enough and after convinced by his editor, brought him back alive. Well, not that this matter as he was killed AGAIN without relatively made a big story impact (as Araki said himself, one of the biggest mistake he made was giving Avdol a broken stand. He just thinking Magician as a simple bird that control fire, and realize controling fire freely just beyond broken just after his fight with Polnareff. So he killed him for real before meeting with Dio)

@@eric_brito nah man, that's just a nod of sorts, boingo's BOOK tell chronological events. jotaro opens an orange and his face splits in two. "fake" jotaro did just that. real jotaro's face being split is just coincidence, especially since it takes place decades down the road.

This part is really an end of era. Now the time stands can be considered as "old meta" and obsoleted. All villians after and include this part have more op stands than King Crimson, Bite the Dust, Za Warudo.

Araki: time stands were too op so I reset the universe. Also Araki: invents even more conceptually broken stands. They're so broken even I've heard mentions of them in vs battles, and I haven't even read part 7 and beyond.
