No, gel is not bad for the nails, it's when people use poor removal techniques that it can cause damage. Notice that she uses a peel off base and is careful to dissolve it as she lifts, being patient. There are other ways to remove, but if properly done, none should harm the natural nail. They take longer than many people want to deal with, so they take shortcuts that can cause damage. However, also know that uncured gel should not touch your skin, as it can lead to allergies, something that can cause harm.
