At 32:47 when calculating the pressure, why is the normal force not also divided by pi along with shaft diameter and shaft length? I thought the area = dia x lenght x pi... Thanks for the video.

you're taking the projected area of the shaft on which the force is acting which is d*l not pi*d*l. the projected area is a rectangle. the later gives you the surface area of the shaft that we're not interested in. although its been 4 years, you must have learnt it. but just in case. lol.
