really glad this came upon my recommended. i’m similarly fond of tweaking my system for the “perfect” planner because i really do want to make it work and wish to stick with it, so hearing about others’ thought process is equally refreshing and helpful. i get why it’s hard to make a universal planner-people have way too different priorities and schedules and the more customized you make something, the more you sacrifice its flexibility. i’ve realized these days that i work best with the closest to a blank paper you can get, because having too much of the same layout blurs my memory of the spread into one amalgamated blob… i was also very excited to see that you watch megan 🥰 i love the types of videos that the both of you make, since even if i know that journalling takes a while (often for too little of an output) it’s hard to be *aware* of it, and not be guilty of actually taking time to think of my schedule. it’s weird. anyway journal with mes are godsent, and i’m eager to find more of your videos i love your cottagecore spin to journalling and it’s very soothing to watch 💕

Re page order: I use InDesign for this! It takes a lil bit of learning to figure out how to do what you want, but once you get it down, it's a HUGE time saver :) Also you could bind your own planner just for yourself instead of getting them manufactured, perhaps. Just some suggestions from someone who's been exactly where you are :)
@NicoleJosephine Жыл бұрын
yes i'll definitely be using InDesign if i take this any further or into production! i kind of just started it on a whim in illustrator, not expecting to go this far with it lol - that will save me so much time. thank you so much for the advice though, binding it myself is very intriguing. :)

I love the planner mock-up! I have the same problem with the A6, it lacks a space to plan my week but an weekly supplement from hobonichi would be a bit annoying because i want everything in the same place and it feels like almost too much space again. Your solution looks really cool and elegant and I also love the b6 size! I hope you end up making it :)

Just found your channel. I love your stickers, and I think your planner mockup is really cool. Have you seen the Common Planner by Sterling Ink? I only mention it because you mention common planning several times. It's brand new for 2023. From watching her experience, it can be a rollercoaster launching a successful new planner. Her weekly layout is vertical, so it's different than your layout, but you might be interested in the creator's journey, even if you don't try the planner. The original planner size was B6 (sold out), but she has some A5 and B6 undated planners available in both full and half year. I think that the English A6 Hobonichi grids are slightly larger than, say, the weekly. Also, the paper is a brighter white. (I LOVE both of these features. The next gridded planner I use will have to have bigger boxes. LOL Just a personal issue of mine. 😊). Anyway, good luck with your planner! Loved the video!

yes i've looked at the common planner before and love how she made it! unfortunately i'm not big on vertical weeklies myself, but will definitely go back and watch her videos to get some insight into the process... it's definitely daunting. i agree about the grid though, anything smaller than 4mm is a little hard on my hand. and thank you so much! :)

Really fabulous.💛 I would love my week to be right there with my dailies! Makes a huge difference to my brain. My only personal change would be - as a planner - half the amount of space for the days (I journal in other diaries) and that way all the days would be together along with the weeks n just two pages. Bliss! 😂

I don't think I've seen one of your videos before (I enjoyed it!), so I'm not sure where you are and all that, but in the US you could have an office store booklet print and cut your planner to size without getting 300 of them :) And you can use a construction/tool stapler to bind it yourself at home - mark where you want the staples to go and staple into a scrap piece of wood or something like that. Then remove the wood and you can tap the ends of the staples down - I'm making it sound more involved than it is, but my mom used to make us kids 'sketchbooks' this way - the larger staples held them together as we went all over outside with them. Probably wouldn't work for a full year-type book, but it's an idea. Good luck with it!
@NicoleJosephine Жыл бұрын
thank you so much !! yes that's how i stapled this little booklet together! i suppose i might have to learn a little more about binding if i make the whole book for myself. that's so sweet that you had little homemade sketchbooks :)

There are really cute almost like plastic folders, but are designed for journals. Usually people order refills but if you print your own spreads all you’d have to do is hole punch it. One person who comes to mind who uses them is justinebujo ^^

ah yes i was also considering a binder journal of some sort to fill up on my own! definitely something to think about and test...

I love that layout!!! Are you considering making an A5 size?
@hanamnee Жыл бұрын
You can make a full page for weekly, similar layout like Hobonichi weeks or free up the Monday in your design. Then a page a day for dailies, if it not too much space. Or it could be more space for decoration.
@NicoleJosephine Жыл бұрын
yeah i was considering that and wondering if it may be too much space for one day... i'll have to experiment with that!
@ramblinganna Жыл бұрын
If there seems to be enough interest for the planner, and it does seem like a unique format that would appeal to people looking for something different, you could start a Kickstarter for it. That way, if you get the interest you can make sure there are enough people committed to buying it before you start manufacturing.
