Does anyone else feel like that they hear TOO MUCH of the DRUM in some of the recent Pikes? Unfortunately I don't know the technical terms for it, but gave Coupon, Hold Me Forever, The Pit (and some other earlier stuff) a fresh listen and I'd say that I like those much much better. Just compare them to the Solo section of this pike, or the recent Pike 561. That constant, loose sounding snare (or whatever its name is) gets on my nerve after a few minutes honestly , and it distracts me from listening to the sound of guitar, which is ultimately what I want to hear. Again, a problem I don't have with the earlier stuff!
@newyorkcityinformer Жыл бұрын
Adjust your equalizer accordingly perhaps
@eternal864 Жыл бұрын
@@newyorkcityinformerI don't think that this is a matter of equalizer adjustment. I use different devices and equipments for listening to music, and I use basically the same Eq adjustment for all the music that I consume. Given that, the earlier stuff (and also everything else that I listen to) sounds alright to me. One can't deny that the drum sounds different in recent pikes compared to the earlier pikes.
@niallgately1745 Жыл бұрын
Why are they called Pikes?
@NatterNet Жыл бұрын
He refers to it as a small kisok/shop where you can buy the albums also called pikes, so u buy pike albums from the pike kiosk at his site bucketheadpikes. I guess its borrowed from turnpike, like you visit the fictional bucketheadland and take the turnpike to the pike store and buy pike albums. It's also the name for a head on a stick used in medieval times, which is probably where he first heard the term 'pike' as he's used a pike on stage before.
