I've been enjoying the Clever Fox journal lately. There's something about the Leuchtturm that keeps me coming back to it too 🙂

Great timing. I'm considering doing a bullet journal in the near future so it was nice to see all these notebook options in one video.

I'd like to try the dingbats notebook someday. Currently working through my stash of notebooks and just bought a Hobonichi again for 2021.

I am using Stalogy right now but always loved Leuchtturm as my first choice.

Hi there! I do a modified / combo of things: I have a Hobonichi A6 Planner as my place to keep track of appointments and tasks for each day, and I carry an A5 Midori MD dot grid notebook for jotting down notes, things to add to my running to-do list, etc. So I pull from my notes in the MD notebook to add tasks to my Hobonichi each day, and I record future appointments in whichever notebook I have handy - ideally the Hobonichi. I tried to do a straight up BuJo but that was too unstructured for me. I like having the loose structure of the Hobonichi, with its pre-printed yearly index, monthly pages, and daily pages. I use the notes pages in the back for keeping lists (e.g. books to read, films to watch, recipes to try, etc.). But by the same token, using the A6 Hobonichi doesn't offer quite enough capacity to keep track of everything I need to write down and remember for work. I didn't want to switch to an A5 Hobonichi Cousin, so carrying the two books is my best compromise. :)

I also write random things about each day in my Hobonichi - thoughts, feelings, what I ate, how the weather was, etc.

This is a great review; thanks! I was wondering if you had a close up picture of the Leuchtturm and X17 dot grid insert paper side by side? I want to switch to the X17 but I like faint dots and can't find a comparison shot anywhere online. Many thanks!

Although it‘s only 80 gsm paper I keep buying the Leuchtturm notebooks. I use Kaweco fountain pens with a fine tip in order to keep ghosting at a minimum. I appreciate Rhodia and Clairfontaine products, but the paper is too ‚slippery‘ for my liking. X17 has just come out with a new paper which is said to be fountain pen friendly.

Random thought! I love the way you say Leuchtturm 1917 👏🏽 Great review, I’ve used both the LT1917 and the Author by GLP creations.

Great video. Does the dingbats feather w a fountain pen does anyone know? I love the lecturm spelling?? Lol. But it ghosts so bad w fountain pens. I'm going to try the GLP.. but I agree it is pricey for the entire year.

Cyndi Thank you Cyndi!! Dingbats doesn’t feather as far as I remember, there’s a review of it on my channel, feel free to look for it. 😊

X17? Mine had THE worst paper ever. My fountain pen and ink was shocking on it. LOL. It is now an expensive waste of my cash on a shelf. 🙂

Richard Barnes Hi Richard!! Too bad the X17 didn’t work out for you. The A5 held up ok for me when I did my writing sample. The A6 has super thin paper and bleeds like crazy. That’s just my experience with it.

I have the Dingbats one, it's my first bujo, but the pages are fucking yellow!... Otherwise it would be perfect! Will use it for work now, I'm a teacher, so it won't get wasted..
