The landmark of the Vietnam - Laos - China border junction (referred to as the border crossing landmark for short) is located on the top of Khoang La San mountain, with an altitude of over 1,800m above sea level, in A Pa Chai village, Sin Thau commune , Muong Nhe district, far from the city. Dien Bien Phu more than 260km to the west, follow national highways 12 and 4H. For a long time, this place has been an attractive tourist destination for tourists from all over the world.
According to Wikipedia, A Pa Chai is a village in Sin Thau commune, Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province, Vietnam. Previously, A Pa Chai village was the westernmost village on the mainland of northern Vietnam. The name "A Pa Chai" is used for the name of the border post and for the A Pa Chai border gate.
Located in the northwest of A Pa Chai village, about 8 km in a straight line, is Khoan La San peak 1864 m high above sea level, which is the high point setting the border marker of 3 countries China, Vietnam and Laos. This place is known as "a rooster crows all three countries can hear". This high point is about 250 km from the provincial capital Dien Bien Phu.
To reach this westernmost peak, it is necessary to pass at least 500 km from Hanoi to Dien Bien Phu city, then continue the bumpy and winding mountain road for another 260 km to reach Sin Thau commune. Muong Nhe district, where there is a border between Vietnam - Laos - China. From here, we continue down the asphalt road through Muong Nhe to A Pa Chai. In the dry season, the road to A Pa Chai is relatively easy, but in the rainy season, the roads become very difficult, even dangerous...
