As far as I think, Canada needs lots of Immigrants. They don't want people to come to Canada and leave in two to three years. Canada needs 400,000 Immigrants every year for the next two years. So, if you apply to get your PR, I think you have to say, you are plainning to stay and settle in Canada. This is what we did 35 years ago from Sultanate of Oman. If you have children, Canadian government will like it. That shows you are for sure plainning to settle in Canada. for instants, If 100,000 people come to Canada and go back to their country after 2 years, Canada will have to plan it's long term goals. Besides that, we are now retired, you, young people must work hard, pay income tax to give us our old age pension. 😂😂. Thank you young people for contributing to our old age pension, our free health care and many other things to improve this beautiful country. All the best to you. 😘😘

Watching all these videos on how to immigrate to Canada and all the social media posts on the subject, I should be worshipping my parents for permanently moving to Canada two and a half decades ago from Sri Lanka while we were little kids. This process sounds like a pain in a neck and at each stage, a small mistake could result in rejection of your application.

Think about a housemaid in Dubai (There are 100,000 SL housemaids in UAE - They get 1,500 Dirhams per month and has to work 10 to 12 hours a day) and a housemaid in Canada (At least minimum wage of Canadian $16.65 and hour, which is $3,000 per month , no more than 8 hours a day, week-ends off, can go to night school to study, must have a seperate room with a toilet for her) . A carpenter in Dubai (2,000 Dirhams per month) and a carpenter in Canada (Average $30.00 an hour - $5,000 a month CDN). A doctor in Dubai (15,000 to 20,000 Dihams per month) and a doctor in Canada (CDN $200,000 to as much as $400,000 an year - close to 72,000 Dirhams a month) . A registered nurse in Dubai and a resgistered nurse in Canada (Canadian $72,000 a year - close to $6,000 a month - which is close to 13,000 Dirhams a month). A police constable in Canada earns as much as $100,000 a year - that is closed to $8,333 per month, how much do you get in Dubai as a police constable?. In Canada a high-school teacher gets as much as $84,000 per year Canadian dollars which is closed to $7,000 per month - closed to 15,000 Dirham per month. You might say the taxes very high. Yes, UAE you pay 5% and we pay much higher taxes than that, but we get the much higher facilities than you get in Dubai. In Dubai if you keep your mouth shut and work hard you can earn 1/4th the salary that we earn here in Canada for any profession. In Canada we can make rules change rules, run to become a member of the parliament to change laws, and do many more things. Today there is a Sri Lanka minister in the Canadian parliament. Can you even think of sending a Sri Lankan member to the Dubai parliament? Can you see an Arab woman member of the parliament in Dubai? Have you heard of an Eye for an Eye, Blood money, beheading in Dubai, put someone in prison for smoking in front of an Arab during ramadhan season, beheading a man having a decent affair with an Arab women, getting arrested by looking at a beautiful Arab women, pay 10,000 Dhiram fine because your car hit a camel and killed that camel. I have close to 9 years experience working in Sultanate of Oman working for the Royal Oman Police. I have seen all of these happening.

A person who manage to get a house maid job in Dubai has least possibility to get to Canada. A house maid job is paid well in canada, I danno how many will wish to go to canada for a house maid job. I was talking about proffessionals and earning, etc. On the other hand, you have to follow the rules of any country when you move whereever. If you wanna have drugs on the roads, then you can move to a country that allows. if you want safety then it can be not there.

GBU Canada is correct. I have a Sr Lankan friend in Ottawa who is married to a white Canadian from Denmark who was in Sri Lankan on a CIDA contract. When they finished the CIDA contract and came back to Canada, they brought a Sri Lankan house maid. We are very good friends and all what GBU Canada told are correct.

@@dayaprana77 I think most of you are misunderstanding my point of view. My opinion is not that Dubai is better than Canada and it's not worth moving to Canada. There is no simple answer such as Yes or No. It depends on your individual circumstances and preferences. Some people find Canada to be an excellent place to live, while others may not enjoy it as much. My point is, if you have established a good life already, but still moving to Canada is the center of my topic. not someone struggle either in Sri Lanka or elsewhere and move to Canada. If I'm in Sri Lanka , No doubt at all and I will make my decision with no hesitation. Specially house maids point is not valid here. I don't know who plans to survive with a house maid job in Canada, after studying for Degree and IELTS and get a visa to Canada and work as a house maid. Dubai housemaids won't get a chance to pass an even interview at an embassy. so it's not whether you can bring a sri lankan house maid to Canada, would you just move because you can survive with a house maid job? It's not just Canada. same story with Europe vs Dubai or Qatar.

We are trying our best to help Sri Lanka people to Immigrate to Canada. So, please don’t mislead Sri Lankans and ask them to go to that hellhole Dubai and suffer. I explained in my previous answer about the whole of Middle East. I lived and worked for the Royal Oman Police and Dubai (Al Buraimi) for almost 9 years, and I have seen how the Arabs treat the foreigners. You can apply. But very rarely the employer will hire because they have to give you an LMIA. With my little knowledge it's tough to get an LMIA unless you're extremely qualified and have loads of experience
