I loved watching the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and seeing the Animation Section at the Old Disney MGM Studios and would love to see you cover it in a deep dive. ❤️

Personally, I’d love to see you do a dive into the Great Movie Ride. It was always my favorite.

This was INCREDIBLE! Ty actually sat with us to watch this because he loves Figment (who doesn’t). Just like your Dinoland deep dive, these are fantastic. Can’t wait to see what you do a dive into next. And I think we need a video of you doing the Captain EO dances. 😂

Great talk about preserving history near the end! We are a very nostalgic generation and want knew but not at the cost of our childhood memories
@waterhorse51998 ай бұрын
I think Millennials are the last of the nostalgic generations. Gen Z and from here on forward will have TOTALLY different memories. Many not so savory. 😳

I remember riding this at Epcot 35... Justin Scarred was with us and he turned to me during the skunk bit and said, "Ew... smells like my grandma!"

Hate that I missed Captain EO! I would totally rock a “Hooter!” shirt! This video is fantastic babe! Great job . Proud of you. I love you

You can wear a similar shirt now. It just would have an “S” and orange lettering lol

Now these are my earliest Disney memories right here! I saw the OG Captain EO a few times throughout the mid to late 80s. I still even have my Fuzzball plush somewhere. My Grandparents lived in the Daytona area around that time so I spent quite a bit of time down there during my single digit ages. Great video and great memories you generated for me here!

Happy Easter Cris, hope you and Jay have a great day. 🙂 I'm munching on a lot of chocolate bunnies today, BTW, did you ever finish those boxes of Russell Stover bloopers? God bless Cris, love your videos, you're such a delight! 🥰

I love Captain EO!!! I went to Disneyland as a kid in the late 80s with my mom, and we had the Captain EO experience. It's absolutely one of my favorite memories.

As a fan of theme park history and classic Epcot nostalgia, this one hit close to home for me. It’s been many years since I’ve been to Epcot, but I remember the original Journey into Imagination. It was interesting hearing your perspective of the ride as a former cast member. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with us.

Saw Captain EO in the 80's and was blown away. Never saw any 3D remotely like that since. Things were floating out by my head, not just a little depth on the screen like modern 3D. Did they have some superior 3D technology or did my child's mind see things in a way I can't now?

Wonderful video! It brought back alot of fond memories for me as well. In Winter-Spring 2005 I was in the Disney College Program and worked both Journey Into Imagination & HISTA. Before that I had not had any history with these rides. During my training I also got to sit under the floor of the pixar shorts (then Honey I shrunk the Audience) theatre. The whole floor is on air bags. It was a wicked cool effect to see from below the floor. Thank you for the video!

Love the history in the video, especially talking about the old turntable. Also love Yesterworld and Defuctland. Martin’s Vids has incredible POVs and docs of the old rides too.

I sadly never got the chance to ride the OG ride but Chad rode all 3 versions. Thank goodness for KZbin and POV videos of old rides. Love Deep Dives and I learned a lot. We should really be preserving these rides instead of slapping some IP on them. Thanks for the shout out as always ❤️ We have that figment shoulder buddy too. He's so cute. I love that the dancing fountains are still outside too. And how the OG music is still in the bathrooms lol. My favorite part about Captain EO besides the music was the hidden Mickey on the ship! Great job on this video and can't wait for more deep dives. :)

I grew up with cpt Eo at Disneyland. I would do that ride 3 to 4 times during a visit to the park. I was so sad when they got rid of it. I was so happy when they brought it back for a short time in 2013. I wish they would bring it back because I love dancing to this lol. I could listen to you talk about Disney all day

I agree Cris, Disney butchered the Imagination Pavillion.

Great history lesson!!! Loved it! I never got to see the original, only on KZbin! It looked awesome! I purchased the Marvel books sold there about Figment and Dream Finder and I wish that Walt Disney World could theme a ride based on that story! Keep the Disney History lessons coming! 😊

I think the best they could do at that point is torning down the whole thing. Building fresh and new with the new technology. The imagination theme fits great with the new trackless ride system.

Really cool info! As someone who did not start going to the parks until 2014, I appreciate the deep dives, it’s nice to get first-hand experience of those who got to see Epcot in its early days! During our 1st trip in 2014 (before we moved here), my now ex-husband was in shock that Captain EO was still playing because that was on in the 80s when he came as a kid, so I did get to see that before it went out forever... it was…something 😂 He had no real connection with Figment, other than he said that was very different than what he remembers, I would’ve loved to have seen seen the original. It seemed a lot more magical! I will now have to look up the 2nd version that was the abomination though! You have me curious! 😂 This current version of Figment needs a MAJOR update 😩 Dreamfinder needs to return! 🌈💜🫣🎶🌙

Great video! I didn’t know all that but always wondered why they never kept the original ride with the Dream Finder. I remember the upstairs being amazing and was a great place for kids since at that time a lot of Epcot was thought to be more for adults. I wish Disney would bring back at least one nostalgic ride that was beloved and totally redeem themselves!! They could start with this one. I think it would appeal to most everyone….us who love nostalgia would get our beloved childhood ride back and the younger generation won’t know the difference, it would be all new to them. 🤷🏼♀️ thx for sharing the memories 😊

Ok…. A few things. First of all, you are AWESOME and VERY informative. I love your nose rings too! They look good on you. Second…, I went with my guy friend to Epcot two weeks ago and we rode this ride. We both loved it but after watching yesterworld and reading the twitter page “remnants of forgotten Disney”, I looked for the track and the circular caourasel in the new image works. I was taking off my sandal and trying to find the track underneath 😂😂😂 I’m sure people thought I was nuts! I told my friend how excited I was about the history of this ride and he told me “ I’m not interested in learning about that”. I was thinking “where did the track go? What parts of the queue were also part if the old track?” I was like “ I wish there was someone to explain this to me” 😂😂😂😂 thank you again so much!!! I’m so interested in Disney history!!! I remember riding superstar limo back in 2001 and that ride was an abomination. Anyway…. Keep up the good work! I love your videos!!!

This is your best video, since it truly came from your heart. Disneyland's Tomorrow land needs to be fixed. But Disney adds rides and attractions or tries to improve things.

Hey, Cris, was Future Corps still there when you worked there? It was a horn and drum unit that generally played jazz pieces, and pretty much rocked! These guys were former members of Drum and Bugle Corps from all over the country. We discovered them when they performed throughout Future World way back in ‘92(?). Anyway, with your percussion background, you would know who I was talking about. I was curious to know if they were still there in 2010.
