I never got to go on the ride when it had Dreamfinder, and I really wish I had! It looks like it was amazing! HOWEVER I do wish people would stop shitting on this ride as much. It's honestly such a mood killer! It might not be as good as Dreamfinder's ride was, but THIS ride was my childhood! I honestly teared up a bit while watching this because this Figment ride brings me such fond memories.

To be fair... this ride used to be much worse. After the closing of the original, there was that terrible period where it was Journey into YOUR imagination, which had no dreamfinder, and only two mentions of Figment. At least this one tried to recapture SOME of the original ' s charm.

Thank you so much for uploading this! I was a custodian at Disney for about a year a couple years back and got all the free passes and such. I have Aspergers so even subjectively mellow rides like this would freak me out with the loud sounds and sudden lights/complete darkness. I really loved this ride though, even if I had to cover my ears a little to enjoy it. But actually being able to just sit at my lil screen here and watch it at my own pace rings up more positive stimulation than the ride itself did in person. I can actually hear the lyrics of the song and I love them! Ha, just venting now I suppose, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this upload.

I've loved this ever since I was a child! I rode it three times when I was there last time, and all three rides were memorable: On my first ride, people laughed when Figment turned into a skunk, and screamed during the "Imagination is a blast!" part. On the second ride, I was with a pair of Japanese teenagers who were confused about the ride, and we got stuck for 30 seconds at 5:10. On the third ride, me and my sister were the only ones on it.

It unfortunately is. If you're still interested in the original version of the ride, there's a bunch of ride throughs of that version around KZbin. If that's still not enough, Disney collaborated with Marvel to adapt the original ride into two comic miniseries. Definitely worth a peek if you have any interest in the original attraction.

Went on the ride and it broke down. The workers had to move out red car and unbolt the door open so we could get out. It was kinda cool because we got to go through the set with the lights on. It's definitely the lights that makes the ride more alive and you got to see how the things worked. Had to go in here to see the whole ride. Got a free fast pass!

Disney realised that people didnt like "journey into YOUR imagination" and then changed it to this in a desperate attempt to make it better

The subject as such is so rich, my goodness, I can imagine all what could be DONE to experience real imagination-production. But what do we get ? A few fragmentary songs and some gags. That's it... Disney as packager without content... Poor.

On an interesting note, Disney adapted the old version of the attraction into a comic series that's getting a reboot in the fall, and threw Figment into Inside Out as an Easter egg. They're suddenly putting Dreamfinder and Figment back into public view after not doing anything with them for a while...may just be Disney cashing in on the nostalgia, but it just might be a sign of something big to come.

Eric Idle is a British institution. I am British and went on this ride in 1989 when I was 7 but seeing him on this is far more weird than seeing the animatronic man on the bicycle. He was even in the Thorpe Park 4D Cinema film

Absolutely. One of the criticisms I saw somewhere else that I rather liked was that Figment, by his nature, is the more chaotic side of imagination. With the original version of the attraction pairing him with the more reserved Dreamfinder, the two made a good Yin/Yang pair. Trying to pair Figment with a comedian like Idle only compounds the crazy and leaves zero voice of reason.

+negavenom I might go on for a while here. I went on this attraction exactly 10 years ago, and it was probably just my child memory failing me, but I remember Figment being a lot more insane and rebellious when I was there. For some reason, I remember him being like, "You want upside-down, Doc? I'll give you upside-down!" and he was sounding really rude to me for some reason. I thought he was some kind of evil and twisted creation that just sucked the fun out of everything. It bothered me so much I actually vowed to myself if and when I ever came back to that attraction, I'd do anything to stop him. You can probably tell I still have that idea since I can actually remember it. My family is planning on returning this summer. And I'll be ready and waiting for him.
