I’m looking at the same boat. Cat 3116 s? What’s your gph at cruising?

Hi, Thanks for watching. Fuel burn depends on speed. At 2,400 rpms, which produces about 18 knots, I burn about 24 gals/hour which is about .75mpg. While I have not cruised extensively off plane at 10 knots or so, from engine data I have researched, the boat should burn closer to 1 mpg or 10/gals per hour. I have found the the boat is very sensitive to having a clean bottom to maximize efficiency.

400 sedan bridge or the 390 motor yacht which one is better? They seem so similar boats yachts so different in their own ways I’m looking for both similar type boats and can’t seem to make up my mind

Thanks for watching. Thats a great question! Th boats are similar air size and accommodation. When we brought Calypso up from Maryland, we docked in Cape May right next to a 39 MY and had a chance to tour her and talk with her owners. A couple of key differences is the enclosed bridge of the 39 MY v. The flying bridge of the 400 and the the 39MY has her staterooms separated at both ends v. the 400 has the staterooms side by side. Engine access on the 30My is through a small hatch in the salon and is a little tight v. the cockpit access on the 400. The salon floor of the 400 also open up entirely so you have standing room around the engines to work on them. One more thing, the 39MY has a rather high boarding height so you need a stair if you cannot board from the swim platform. This may make line handling a little harder. I think it can come down to styling as well. Both are good looking designed from Searay that offer a lot but have different styles.

gr8 info, thanks for your videos. I'm just getting same boat, can you share what spare parts you where recommended to have on board?

Hi, Sorry for the slow response. I carry extra oil, and antifreeze, along with an impeller kit, some hose clamps of various sizes, emergency tape and wooden plugs along with a tool kit. That should cover you for minor breakdown.

So at 5 min 29 seconds I'm watching you blow through a no wake zone in a 40ft boat on plane...maybe pay attention vs shooting video.. your passing the delaware responder and Dann Marine which is no wake. Then into Chesapeake City...

Hey, Thanks for the comment. As soon as we saw that it was no wake we cut power and idled the best of the way.

I was thinking the same thing. I keep my boat at Summit North Marina on the canal so as soon as I saw the DE responder in the background I couldn't believe it. It's well marked so you'd really have to not be paying attention to miss that no wake sign on your starboard side on the approach to Chesapeake City.
