That trip was the BEST, and gave me so much knowledge about the Indians i didn't know about. So I'm looking so much forward, to see you out here on this adventure!!!. You are the best, NO one can beat you doing this.!!!. Best regards from Denmark👍🏼

Well-done! Best documentary video I've seen on the Camino. When I first went to Bates Well, in the mid-80's, one of the barns had a 1932 calendar with a picture of a pretty girl tacked to the wall. A friend who was with me was taken with her image, and he took a photo of it. We were all students at U of A back then. My friend kept the photo above his desk. A few years later, the woman he married was the "spttin' image" of the girl on the calendar. Keep up the good work, but be careful out there. Lots of smuggling going on and those people are ruthless.

I just came to read all of the hate filled comments about giving thirsty people water, or saving people lives... As Mark Twain once said - “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

I love it so much... serenity... the Lord God Almighty is even there often.

That beacon is a great idea.
@bills60936 жыл бұрын
Maybe we should have a couple of those beacons and water barrels in our large forested parks where people get lost, and not just on the border. If you get lost in the woods, get to a high spot and look for a blue beacon light, there you will find water and a magic red button.
@ErikjStudios6 жыл бұрын
Thing is, we do have those in our large forested parks.... Theyre called park rangers...
@bills60936 жыл бұрын
You can't see a park ranger from very far away, like you could a blue beacon on a tower. In fact, you could have the coordinates of the "rescue towers" put in to the GPS system so they show up on GPS device maps. The base of the towers could have basic first aid items, water, blankets, and food. The towers could also be used by people helping injured hikers who can't make it to the tower. I realize we could never have enough towers, the areas are too large, but we could have some.

Now this is a good idea that I can get behind. Thanks for clarifying.

To find the depth of the well, multiply the number of seconds by the speed of gravity, about 32 feet per second.
@triac7776 жыл бұрын
sirknight438 An object in free fall will accelerate at 32 ft/sec/sec until it reaches terminal velocity. In this instance of a few seconds, your estimate will suffice. Science rules.

The formula to find distance from free fall time (in a vacuum) is h=1/2gt^2, or read as height equals one half the acceleration of gravity times the square of the free fall time. The acceleration due to gravity is ~9.8m/s, and using a stopwatch a few times to time the rock falling and averaging them, I ended up with 1.76 seconds. If you plug that into the equation, you end up with a depth of 15.18m, or 49.8 feet.

Maybe I can con you into coming to Ohio if I can get some decent permissions? I live close to where Morgans Raiders turned themselves in and where the "lost french gold" is rumored to be. I also have another lost treasure that needs found. That's a really long story though.

It's the home of Union General Robert Allen and several members of the "Fighting McCooks". My town was established in 1803 so theoretically there is a mess of history to be recovered. The other treasure I need recovered is the wedding ring of a friend who drowned in little beaver creek. It mean the world to his widow. It's a long shot but we know the exact location. The dam that caused the rushing water has been removed so the water is safe to enter now. I just need someone reputable to assist with the recovery.
