@@petrov495 Thanks man really appreciate that. Shipping was rough yeah. I'm working on a better rate for that but at least you received a signed copy if that's even worth it, from some woods bum haha. You won't get that in stores. Hope the kids enjoy it that's who it's really for.

@@JustinBarbournlexplorer i did not know that i could ask for a personal message in the contact us section after buying the book. Now i know after watching this video. Can you hit me up with a great outdoor quote from yourself or any other legendary outdoor woodsmen as a personal message? Thx dude! Keep making those outdoor vids!

As someone with a disabllity I cannot take similar journeys myself, however I find that I can take a sense of freedom watching you enjoy the wilderness and great outdoors! Yes! Tent, no tarp. Right model type tent. Breakfast : i use a gasoline burner, lunch too. Evening has more time for Woodfire. Ridge rest... Not for winter. But no punctures etc, sturdy. I AM 63, cannot do this anymore. But started in 1981.. so i say. Good system!! Greetings from the Netherlands.

Thanks Gert! I like your evaluations. Whenever I use the ridge rest in the winter i always have boughs below for extra insulation.

What great scenery you treated us to as you and Saku wend your way up the rock-strewn basin of the once mighty Grey River. Thank you for this latest slice of Newfoundland adventure. But couldn't you have brought a bit of line to catch a fish anywhere along there... just wondering.
@JustinBarbournlexplorer5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching David. I'm sure a few are wondering the same. I did have a fly rod and spin cast. Tried fly few times and nothing. Water levels were extremely low as you can tell. Not sure if there's much in the Grey River higher up where the Salmon can't reach. Especially in the mid summer heat. To warm for trout they are usually in the deep lakes at that point. Also I carried more than enough food with me as I am pretty much training for longer unsupported trips in this mode of travel. Basically I started with enough food for 30 odd days. So securing food wasn't a necessity and in this extremely demanding style of travel at the end of each day once camp was set I was fit for the bunk. But, I do catch a couple dandies later in the trip so stay tuned.

Hello Justin, super episode again, the nature is at his best out there . Too bad you couldnt use your raft to travel but the water levels are low this summer even here in Québec. I dont know if you remember, I once did a comment that MSR should offer you a new tent as you are their best ambassador, showing the tent in the most amazing places in harsh conditions. I hope they come to you and offer you a brand new one even if you have to make them some publicity in your videos. Take care !

I've wanted that tent for a long time, but I just can't justify getting it right now with the tent I already have. It's not the lightest, but it'll cost a couple hundred more to save a pound, so...you make me wish I made a different choice when I got mine, but I just didn't trust that single pole
