This was the real Journey. What these 5 masters did together will never be matched. It may not have lasted all that long but it will live on forever. Steve Perry was true generational talent that will likely never be matched in rock music again! If there was such a thing as a time machine, I'd be an observer in that Denver hotel room where NS and SP met for the first time, composed this song and changed the course of music history. What a moment that had to be!

It should tell you something that Perry was known as "The Voice" by his fellow singers. I mean, we're talking real pros, rock stars with millions of fans and even THEY call him that. That's not true. Perry was just one member of the band for a period of time. Journey is Neal Schon's band. The three albums released before Perry joined showcase excellent musicianship.

Definitely THE PARTY HABITS were going on in 1986 " Raised On Radio" tour! Sherrie broke up with him in July, 1985 ,then Steve's Mom died December 4,1985....hes had Ross Valory and Steve Smith FIRED.I cannot imagine the emotional and mental TORMENT Steve was "trying to mask" during ROR TOUR. Every song on ROR has lyrics directed toward his MOM & SHERRIE.
