Amen. Great review. It’s a brilliant film and a beautiful portrayal of the birth of our Saviour.

I agree woth Dallas, i had reservations about a musical about the birth of Jesus, but the music is great. Joel Smallbone music, was great.

My daughter and I watch The Chosen, and we can't wait to see Journey to Bethlehem. Thank you to you and to the guy behind this movie for making Jesus accessible to a skeptical 15 year old girl!

I just saw Journey To Bethlehem two times, one time on November 9th and the other on November 12th. I absolutely loved it. My favorite musical you guys had done. Obsessed with it. Characters like Fig the Donkey stole my heart and Milo Manheim and Joel Smallbone were my favorite portrayals of Joseph and Antipater ever. When Zoe Arnau, the shepherd girl, sang "Silent Night" while Mary was going into labor in the stable, I cried. Then I cried again at the ending. What a beautiful movie and every time a Christmas song about the birth of Jesus comes on the radio, I'm always going to think about the movie. Four things that disappointed me: Gabriel was too scary when his eyes glowed bright blue as he yelled, "MARY!" (I hid under my blanket during that scene two times), Jesus didn't cry when he came out of the womb, King Herod scared me, and Mary was just a freaky mannequin during "The Ultimate Deception". Basic from that, I'm so glad I saw the movie and can't wait to own it on DVD!

I love the characters showing love and flirting like in the Chosen etc.Its romantic and I love it. It’s ok to act in this way with your husband etc and it’s beautiful. It’s all real and how we act as humans. I love it.
@kellyconover893611 ай бұрын
I also love the “feelings” like how Mary would have felt possibly and how it could pertain to someone now and could help them. We are all human and the characters could have had these feelings etc as in the movie. It helps people of today. It’s awesome.

Thank you for your opinions & voice about this movie. Your thoughts & beliefs make so much sense. I've now seen it in theatres twice & plan to go at least once more & suggested it with some family/friends. I think doing the nativity story as a musical was a fantastic idea. The biblical story of Joseph became a musical as did the easter story with Jesus Christ Superstar. Both are still remembered & redone year after year. So why not do the greatest story ever get told the same way. Plus with this one the creators & I believe many who worked on the film were people of faith, whether that be Christians, or Jews, like the characters of the story being told. I now have a new tradition for Christmas eve and I can't wait to see this film again! It was so well done. Also, I thought the wise men were cheesy the 1st time I watched, but enjoyed them more the 2nd time.

@meeting_meghan, I saw it two times and I'm obsessed! This movie is a Christmas tradition for me. I have the full movie on my iPad that I can watch again and again. I'm glad we found something in common! The three wise guys song was pretty funny! My whole family was singing the full soundtrack in the car on my way to work today And btw, I love Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (because of the 1999 movie, I now have a crush on early thirties year old Donny Osmond) and Jesus Christ Superstar too, but Journey To Bethlehem is always #1 in my heart. Also I love Grease. Rizzo is my favorite!

@@VictoriaRamos-jz6mb I just saw it twice more in theatres tonight. I want it to do well in theatres but am extremely excited for when its out on dvd (didn't feel right recording it). So when I'm not seeing it in theatres I'm watching clips and interviews and listening to the songs. That's cool. Now I just shake my head, at the Wise men funny parts. And yes I love Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & Grease also. I was actually in a production of Joseph in high school.

@meeting_meghan, Oh, that's cool! I'm Victoria. I'm a huge Milo Manheim fan, as well as a fan of the show Glee, and of course, a Journey To Bethlehem fan. I love musicals, basically because I saw my favorite from last year, Matilda, on Netflix. But Journey To Bethlehem is #1 in my heart. My crush was in my twin sister, Rachel's Joseph show at a church that just ended. He played Joseph. His name's Spencer. He's so cute! And I hope one day we'll get married. He's 22, I'm 21. Rachel told me. Want to be friends? 'Cause if you do, you can learn more about me. I love Journey To Bethlehem and Glee and Darren Criss and Chris Colfer and Joel Smallbone and For King & Country and Sophia Woodward and Chris Colfer and The Really Loud House and Inside Out and Turning Red and so much more. What do you say?

@@VictoriaRamos-jz6mb You are so darling! I love your enthusiasm for this new musical, Journey to Bethlehem, and everything else you listed. I'll pray your Spencer will reciprocate your feelings. And if he's smart, he'll act quickly.

I have listen to all music, no bad songs in the movie. Obviously, no mention of Mary's parents in Bible or an arranged marriage to Joseph or her being stoned or,... but i think it's so cute of a movie, with good song & even great song like "it's good to be King", that overall, it works.

Thank you, Dallas! Here what you are saying about the Catholics - I was raised as one - to the Catholics I say - see it and then use the "differences" as a talking point - open up the dialogue.

Thanks for this review. I had thoughts on seeing this my self due to a couple of songs that are nice and the actors/actresses seem really good. However, my sister got to me about a review about this movie and like Dallas had said, the content on how Mary is portrayed and the moments between them seem off, it could be getting to me.

Thank you Dallas, I’m glad you said what you did and although the movie was very entertaining, it was not biblically accurate at all for the most part. I would not recommend unless you have spiritual discernment and can let these things roll off your back. The Chosen is biblically accurate as far as scripture goes and will always recommend it to anyone, so Dallas don’t ever compromise that!! There is enough false doctrine coming out all over and in many churches, we don’t need more of it. The Bible is very clear on this and people are being deceived like crazy. Journey to Bethlehem was entertaining but can’t be taken seriously.

I absolutely loved this movie. I disagree about Catholics not liking this. I disagree because Mary is portrayed with providing all the strength and faith needed for the event of this Holy BIrth and the people around her follow her lead and she also grows in faith throughout the movie which makes a great character arc. The music is catchy and beautiful and is revealing of character and not just “slapped on” because it is a musical. I liked that this is an entertaining and uplifting movie for the holidays that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their faith or beliefs.

Love Dallas but man he sure can talk for a while 😂 this movie is best seen without hearing anything about the movie, including this review. You should watch this review after you’ve seen the movie is *if possible. Also, I disagree about the flirty thing, not sure why he said that.. even if it was considered flirting, I would say it was probably the most mild flirting I’ve ever seen in a movie. Please don’t let that dissuade you from seeing it. GO SEE IT!!! ;)
