Check how hot the coiled up extension leads get ! ( specially the one with the cable tie round it )
@rootsdownhomestead Жыл бұрын
That's a great point, i should do that. Really i probably should have made a proper circuit as there's just too many wires in there!
@anniemac3075 Жыл бұрын
Agree with another comment on here about checking how warm coiled cable on extension leads get, plus surely you're overloading the socket with two lots of extension leads coming off it. It takes time to organise things like the garage, you'll keep changing things until you get them right & they feel comfortable to work with.

Yeah that's a great point and i need to keep an eye on that. Thanks for mentioning it :)

I would off one tip for future projects. To prevent tear out on the back of a piece of wood, (when drilling) clamp a scrap piece of wood under the spots on the wood you are drilling then drill. I think you will find much cleaner holes. An innovative idea for your charger station. I agree with the comment regarding tracing the shape of your tools on the wallboard. Very handy for spotting missing tools and also knowing where everything belongs.

That's a brilliant tip, thanks so much as i always have this problem :)

Thanx for the motivation. I organized my shed last week. FInishing up mortaring my 1857 stone foundation after I hammerdrilled out the cement last week. Gorgeous weather. Yes Understand the need for an organized inside space. Great ideas thanx for the batteries. Keep doing your thing. Appreciate ya. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal maybe now after they pulled NHR....cheers

Sometimes organising tasks can be good for the mind! Sounds like a tough job, but worth it being an 1857 stone foundation! Ah yeah that's a pain about the NHR, i don't think it's been confirmed yet, has it?
@myitaliantherapyginafiore4414 Жыл бұрын
If you have not began process it's doubtful. I was coming to buy a property this winter but could not apply for citizenship until 2024. So for me highly doubt it. How did your shed turn out? Great idea for the batteries. I love working with cement & mortar so meditative to me. @QuintaLifePT

Mark, the first thing you should have done is remove everything from that garage and pressure wash it, then get rid of all unwanted junk before starting with storage and organization, just saying! 😉🥰
@rootsdownhomestead Жыл бұрын
Thanks :) So it's a dusty floor, the pressure washer just brings the floor up. I know because i have a huge hole in it, which i'll need to backfill. I've been cleaning and painting it, i'll do an update soon :)
@evelyngorfram9306 Жыл бұрын
Cool project. It'll be nice not to have to watch you working out on a gravel driveway all the time. 😄 Friendly suggestion that you consider adding support boards behind your various shelf brackets, under the plywood panels & tied in the garage's horizontal beams behind your shelf brackets. A stone hassle, I know; but a single layer of plywood is only so strong...
@rootsdownhomestead Жыл бұрын
Haha yes i tried to mix it up a bit ;) That's a good idea, the plywood boards seem strong enough, for now! I went for slightly thicker ones so i think it'll be ok, should there not be a significant amount of weight :)

Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys,sine a line around your tools with a marker then when something is missing you can recognize it and remember where you used it and pick it up, good work 👍😁.

Nice work really enjoy watching what you get up to. Just a quick one though, you have the hammer function on when drilling timber, be much quick, easier and quieter set to just the drill function. Top job though mate.
@rootsdownhomestead Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot :) Thanks for spotting that too! I'd be drilling in to concrete so i'd probably forgot to switch it back to the drill function! oops :)

Hi….enjoy watching your progress ! Have you ever filmed outings around the region you live in…that would be nice.
@rootsdownhomestead Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot :) I did actually do a video of exploring Evora, which is about 80 minutes from us but it seems a lot of our viewers are here for the homesteading and stuff, the video didn't do well so i took it down! Sometimes i include the odd little village in our videos :)
@MarianneInmarsilia Жыл бұрын
@@rootsdownhomestead Why not try again ? It could just be a once in a while for a change. It’s always interesting to see the nearby region in order to provide the house/home with a context….geographically, culturally, aesthetically, seasonally, socially. I enjoyed it one time when you went out for pizza. Just simple outings can be fun to film ! I’ve been to Portugal 5 times, but never to the South. Always between Porto and Vigo in Spain.
