Wow..she is smart how she learn different languages from SA and other countries, it's embarrassing that we as SA can't even speak all 12languages when someone else from another country learn your languages, but i want the government to be strict especially on foreigners who don't have papers, esther you are a star! This sister has a great story and I applaud her resilience and tenacity. However, we as Africans saying that children growing up in tough conditions is an “African” thing to do, is not actually African. A lot of things we confess as African are not actually that. Since the interruption of colonialism we lost so much of ourselves to the point that we don’t actually understand our character before this interruption and, by extension, what we are now. For example, kids in ancient Buganda were left to be free and enjoy childhood. They were raised collectively by the entire extended family, nurtured and loved. If we learn more about some aspects of our ancient ways it would help heal a lot of wounds we bear as a people. Great interview @UGConnect. Keep up the good work👍🏾
