The horse cannot always turn into a dragon. Monkey King‘s Kungfu is not perfect underwater, and he wants pigsy to do more. The relationship between Monkey Pigsy and master is not so good from the beginning. .... actually it’s hard to explain, the journey to the west is not only a myth film for kids, it’s one of the four most famous Chinese novels.

Why didn't the monkey king fly master across the river

Good question he’s master has to traverse the journey by himself he can’t have a pillgram fly him across or he won’t be able to get the scriptures you see he has to face the 100 challenges he can still have transportation like a horse but flying would break the rules

Why is it that the journey to take a journey is 108,000 miles, but a somersault by Sun Wukong is also 108,000 miles? In fact, there is only Tang Seng alone, and the three apprentices represent Tang Seng's inner desires. In "Journey to the West", the five masters and disciples, Sun Wukong, Tang Seng, Zhu Bajie, Sha Monk, and Bai Longma, are just one person! Sun Wukong is the human heart, Tang Monk is the human body, Zhu Bajie is the human desire, Monk Sha is the human nature, and White Dragon Horse is the willpower of the human being.

Why the hell doesn't Wukong simply carry Tang and fly across the river? Is this a magic river? Indeed I notice Wukong never carries anyone one and fly in the entire series. I'm wondering why?

Master Tang has to experience all the 81 hardships/difficulties himself to get the Buddhist scriptures, all his disciples are here to help him get through them not to skip 'em over. That's why Monkey can't just carry him and fly across even a river in front of them.
