Fuckin hell. What a time this must have been. I was born in 1997. All I’ve known is fake performances. If I’m being honest, only people I’ve seen who didn’t use lip sync or auto tune in a concert was Post Malone and Motionless in White.🤷🏾😂

I was a third grader in 1981 when this song was popular. My best friend and I sang this at the top of our lungs while walking across a country club golf course near her subdivision. An adult heard us and offered us money to keep singing. lol. Good times.

Song wise, there is nothing simple here at all. The song is one of the very best "crafted" pieces I've ever heard. There is allot going on in this song musically, and the only way to explain it is to look at how a pocket watch works. Musically, it's like that.

many of my heroes from the sixties had a hard time performing live as good as the studio tricks. Perry is still alive and well and of course we see even better that the original recording. the instrumental technique was zero difficult, but by the same token the band members were extremely skilled. they rolled it all back as Perry joined the band. by dumping their egos and joining with Perry - the rest is history. god bless them all.

The Escape record was recorded in 1981, there weren't too many studio gadgets at the time. They had the basics: reverb, flange, chorus and the most complicated piece of equipment at the time was the Eventide 910. You had the and a 24 track tape recorder and that was it. The sound engineer hit the record button and the band played. You got what you got. It wasn't until the mid/late1980's and the semiconductor/chips that things really started to change. More and more gadgets were invented, and you could cover up all the fuck ups shitty musicians made.

Musicians had to actually be musicians in that era. They had to have a real voice and know their instrument inside out. I played in bands in this era. The competition was intense, and it was real. I had the experience of totally kicking ass with a great set, or my band getting our asses handed to us by another band because they were better. But it was real competition. We had to work harder to get better. Now nobody cares about real music and the hard work that goes into it.

First plan on the new world order Georgia Guidestones is for 93% of all people to be disappeared. (That includes blacks, whites, Mexicans, earlier inhabitors, Asians, Christians...and even many Democrats.) Isaiah 65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. John 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

It's actually sad. As the whole purpose behind experiencing and *live Life, is to evolve.........and grow in ways that represent what was once done and once was. Being that it will be celebrated by those to come. Instead, all you see is folk thinking and aiming to outdo another. This quality of music cannot be undone or outdone. When it comes to quality, you're either adding, adding or adding. In no way can you take away.
