Hi Welcome to the Madwitch channel...I wanted to share the beginning of my journey with this beautiful tarot from the 80's. I think this will be a part one and I will do a follow up at some point. ...
this deck created by James Wanless is like stepping off the end of the world into the universe, within and without...stunning collage art by Ken Knutson
I probably got my microcosm and macrocosm the wrong way round, as is my wont...heyho ..either way - this is a beautiful deck. I loved finding statues from ancient history as well as modern things like the calculator in the collaged pictures. He is inspiring us to look and look again.

Hi Rosanne thank you for popping by. I was watching a really good channel 'TheStarMeansHope' where she did a month trial with a deck, in other words a walk through with much more and I really enjoyed it! She absolutely took walk throughs to another level by sharing her experience through the month. I shamelessly will adopt that moving forward as it is such an important part of working and getting to know decks. And now I NEED this deck. Thank you for reading from the guidebook. It sounds like a wonderfully thought-provoking book. I'm a space fan, too! All my life I've wondered what and who was out there. Thinking we are the only beings in this unfathomable vastness shows not only how small we are but also how small and limited our brains are. I remember being in science class when I was 14yo and the teacher was talking about the planets. I was daydreaming gazing out the window and she asked me what I thinking. I told her I thought we were some alien's science project, and she was currently getting a C- because we were destroying our beautiful home. She smiled and said I was probably right. I love so much the beauty of this planet, but I've always felt I was born out of time and my real home is out there somewhere. It's so funny that you mentioned all the Star Treks because I was pulling out my Star Trek fabrics today so I can make quilted pads for my desk. And I finished a cross stitch piece a couple days ago of a UFO beaming up a Sasquatch and it reads "The Truth Is Out There." 😂 Oh, the conversations we could have, Giselle. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this deck and the books. And I understand completely how you feel about the cosmos. We're kindred Spirits. Peace and love, Lindsey.

What a profound thing to say at 14! I was thinking I need to get some planet fabrics too. It is sad to watch the wildlife programmes and hear about how devasted nature is due to us. We are so stupidly small in our thinking and yet the native humans who worked and honoured the land had it right...greed has made us corrupt. My eyes can't manage cross-stitch these days ..let me know if you get the deck and how you work with it. Loved this video! Always enjoy learning personal snippets on what people enjoy and agree on the vastness of the universe and knowing we are just a speck (stardust)❤ I have had this deck for years and yet to actually read with it. But I do enjoy the collage work. It makes you think about the images used on each card.

This looks like something i would like also. So glad you stopped putting pressure on yourself to try and do and follow everything. It's just so stressful that way. I had to make myself stop trying to follow everything a couple of years ago and now that i just do and study what i want to instead of doing everything everyone else was doing or what people wanted me to do, i have felt more Peace in my life. I do not have this deck but i think i am going to try and get it along with those books. It feels very special to me 😊Enjoy ! It's not until you start studies you realise you don't like their system or they aren't for you 🤣 well at keast that's what I'm finding ...I hope to revisit the ancestral and Wildwood but the decans definitely aren't for me currently ...if you get the deck let me know how you get on with it xxx

loved this walkthrough Giselle. I saw this deck on Ebay the other day and I immediately felt I had to have it. So I've been watching some walkthrough vids to ensure that I do really need this in my life. And this video has convinced me. And yes you are a little bright spark in our lives 🤩

The first tarot reading I ever received, the reader was using this deck. Being who I am, my instinct was to try reading it intellectually, and this deck flat out was having none of that! I ended up ordering it directly from James Wanless and feel a very special connection. But, it is forcing me to approach it intuitively and drop everything I expect it to be. This is a good learning lesson for me. The one thing that frustrates me is my eye sight is not so good any more, and the collage images are hard to discern; another reason just to go with feeling it out. Please keep up your exploration and posting about this deck. I really want to fully connect with it, and am tired of only finding walk throughs. I want to hear about others' experience with this deck and their thoughts and insights. And I absolutely love your embroidery signage for your site. Glad I found this, and that it is not several years old. Thank you!

Im delighted you found me and delighted you are enjoying the voyager, especially as it is making a clear voice with you. I love decks that do that. I understand what you mean about the images and eye sight, I can account to that too. I tried to get an older version with clearer print but i haven't been able to find one so I gave up tbh. Some decks are just meant to be intuitive and to have their own voice to challenge you so I think you will be fine. I will do a check in and happy to share my journey. Have had this deck shortly after first came out and I absolutely adore it. Making this comment while I save the vid for later in the day. It happens to be my birthday and there are plans I don't know in detail, I just know I have to get ready for them. Originally got this deck as a birthday present for myself after a friend did a reading for me with it under hilarious and prime story telling circumstances. But I like keeping it a personal piece of my history, and smiling about it every now and then. Looking forward to watching what you share when there's quiet space and time for that. Am thinking I'll bring out my deck and give it a few shuffles before this day gets underway. ☀

@@madwitch9977 I so enjoyed this video. At one point I paused it and got up to retrieve my copy of the big guidebook, because I'd forgotten all about those lovely introduction sections in the first portion of it. FYI Lynn V. Andrews wrote the Medicine Woman series of memoirs. Also of potential interest: when Wanless was younger he did look a great deal like Patrick Stewart/Captain Picard. I believe the Pic a card moniker was originally given to him by students and friends. My original deck is missing is Emperor. About five years ago I bought the newer smaller deck directly from him and we had a few rounds of correspondence. I found him to be extremely switched-on and very much in the moment. And he definitely knows this deck as only a creator can. Thank you so, so much for bringing me all the way back home to such an important deck from my recent and far-gone past.

However, I decided against it in the end. I don't have the larger book, but now I'm thinking I might enjoy diving into it! Opps! 🙈
