Yup! I ate rat meat.
This is Hopkins - the friendliest village in all of Belize and the cultural epicenter of the Garifuna people. Those are not just my thoughts, this has been proclaimed in several magazines already.
We're going to roam around town, indulge in some local delicacies like snapper prepared in coconut milk (Bundiga) or eat some grilled jungle rat (Gibnut); aka the Royal Rat only since Queen Elizabeth had it too.
Learned a few more things about herbs at a chocolate farm on the way to Hopkins.
Some encounters at the nearby barrier reef with Belize Underwater, planned and unplanned performances and some of the warmest people with warmest smiles on the planet. Let's go!

Love me some Hopkins have special childhood summer memories there in the earliest of the 1990s. I came back in 2019 to bury my gran and had just brief moment here. Shoutout to my Grand-Auntie (My Grandpas sister) her name is Hazel Magdaleno Nunez who lives behind Queen Beans Restaurant. I met her for the first time, very sweet woman. She is 96 years young and just absolutely radiant and strong. I was so relieved when I did. I was told not to have super high hopes to get it back haha. Since, I got a much lighter drone that doesn't require clearance so lesson learned. I'm very happy to hear that my tips went to good use. Take care!!

Went to Belize Easter and stop in Hopkins for Dinner at Maxims restaurant on the beach the food was to die for, everyone was so nice. I will definitely go back to Maxims whenever I go back to Belize.

Yes, for u/w I used a gopro; then a gopro360 for aerial 360 shots. Samsung s10 w a gimbal/stabilizer for everything else
