Grew up in Gravesend Bklyn 60's - Early 80's.. WAT A NICEEEE place that (USED) to be... Its All Gone! Say wat ya want?? But the Wise Guys Used to KEEP it Safe! I remember Getting Off the C Beach on Wedt 8th & Ave U.. Like after midnite Cominb Home from San Genaro Feast.. NO Fears. NO one Bothered NO one! That was in JHS. Lafayette HS...Samey Same! You may not like his personal political views, I don't ! but don't insult the GA's, they did loads of good to communities they served, they did it with honesty and sincerity, they DARED TO CARE at times when no one else did !!! I know this for a fact because I was one in my late teens. The story goes beyond the safety patrols to all the other community outreach activities we participated in, from delivering groceries to the elder, delivering meals to the homeless and much much more. So yeah I never was a big fan of his personality and all but he started a great organisation.
