C'mon, Cambodia does not need another war. Because of war, we are weak and as a result we lost Khmer Krom to Youn and many more lands. Because of war, Cambodia is the way it is now - very behind compare to the rest of the world. Cambodians should unite, less confrontation and move forward. Having said that, I think Hun Sen should step down. But there has to be another way of going about this without harming innocent people in the process and slowing down the country's growth.

This was filmed just before I first began living there in the 90s. It was truly the wild west. Just a year later the forecasts of this piece came true and Hun Sen's army took down Prince Rannaridh and his party in coup over two days of bloody street fighting in the city and seized power utterly. There was a battle right in front of my gate in the suburbs. Scary, exciting times. And that was just a few months after Hun Sen's bodyguard unit attacked a Sam Rainsy rally in the city with hand grenades, killing 16 people including Sam Rainsy's bodyguard. He was lucky to survive. (I wonder if the bodyguard who died is one of the ones shown in this piece.)

Sam Rainsy is rich because his father was a corrupt official under Lon Nol before he escaped to France before the Khmer rouge took over. Why did he escape with his family if he loved his country? Millions of Cambodian people died. He want to save people that already been saved.

Where does Sam Rainsy get the money to send his daughter to study in a prestigious university in America? Where does he get his income from? I don't know what his job is beside being the leader of SRP? Maybe the donations people made to the SRP lol? Sam Rainsy has a history in investmant finance. He was a successful businessman in France for years. You could have looked this up. On the other hand, how does Hun Sen use his "personal funds" to build hundreds of schools, all named after him (not to mention his multiple mansions) on a civil servant salary? You don't find it suspicious that a public servant with no education, who got his start as a Khmer Rouge soldier, is one the wealthiest men in the whole country?
