One time back in 1962, my parents were driving home from a Drive-in movie and saw a woman be pushed out of a moving car. My parents stopped to help her. While waiting for an ambulance, my dad provided an army blanket to cover her with which went with her to the hospital. My dad took my mom and sisters home and then went to the hospital "for his blanket". I assume he was worried about the woman. Shortly after my dad got home and into bed, he discovered that the bed was wet and mother's water had broken. This was the day that I was born. I'm the only one of four children who was born early. I'm assuming it has everything to do with the stress my mom was feeling from what she witnessed.

I saw a guy cross the street at night and get hit by the car in front of me. He died. It was very traumatizing. It felt like I was in a movie. I was the first one up to him and he was in a pool of blood. Had a panic attack three weeks later when it finally sank in. But I totally get it, Joy!

This happened to a girlfriend and I when we went down to Florida for spring break our first year of college. We came upon a large car pile up, I think 11 cars or something, and almost everybody was dead. It was horrific ! I will never forget going up to the window of one of the cars and the man was still alive, but the steering wheel had gone into him. He was bleeding to death and his wife was dead next to him and so were his kids and he couldn’t turn his head ,he kept asking about his wife.

It is common for 911 operator to ask if you want to provide your name and phone number. If you were the first car behind the incident. Authorities may want to follow up with additional questions. You also could be summoned in a trial. So sorry Joy and Whoopi, you are both incorrect concerning the interactions with a 911 operator.

Because the basic itinerary of the show is determined beforehand. There is only so much time for each person to speak on any subject, and then they must move along. As the moderator, it's Whoopi's job to keep things on schedule, and she gets clear signals from off camera if that isn't happening. I wish they had more time for certain subjects, too, but it's the nature of the medium.
