@@dewdrops5969 Uncle , I never told that he became successful because of Mohammed Rafi sahab . I am just saying that his collaboration with the singing legend was quite popular & remains so till date . 🙂 Majority of his songs were huge successes . I agree with you uncle that it will not be an exaggeration for us to conclude that Mohammed Rafi sahab's songs for him established him to get the image of a 'Chocolate Boy' as was with Biswajit Chatterjee sahab too , for which they give him due credit too . Otherwise as far as I know , Joy sahab wished to become a tennis player & has no intention in acting even after being from such a family , it was an absolute by chance when his father & Ram Mukherjee sahab coaxed him in entering the profession after promising him to give him a pocket money of ₹200 instead of ₹15 . That's how Jaidev Mukherjee was reborn as Joy Mukherjee . 🙂

RIP joy MUKHERJEE.. Really an actor of joy. I have seen two movies of joy Mukherjee at the time of release with my elder sister in the year 1967when ""Love IN TOKYO ""was released in KOLKATA at Rupali Cinema hall near Jadubabur Bazar. Then I was perhaps 9/10 years old and another Film. Love in TOKYO was with ASHA parekh. Another was ""SHARGID ""of 1968 with the most beautiful actress Saira Banu. The movie Love IN TOKYO was his last super duper hit movie. Joy MUKHERJEE. Preferred respected Mohammed Rafi more than his own uncle respected Kishore kumar though he used his uncle 's song. However, I think that the face of kajol mostly lookalike with Kishore Kumar Sahab. Really so. 19/5/22/.
