I'm a worship leader for my University as well and it's a blessing that I was given the opportunity and I want to continue growing!! Crazy cause I didnt see myself being one a couple years ago when my faith wasnt strong back then! God does wonderful things! Do you have any tips? I want to get to writing music with my church as well!
@dustinmccrindle3435 жыл бұрын
Yoyo. Such a cool story bro. What instruments do you play/write from? If you want some tips on song writing here's what my band and I do: 1. Write with other people. You'll learn what they know. 2. Perfection is a myth, just do your best and keep improving, while you enjoy it. Don't be too hard on yourself. And don't be afraid to write bad songs, they're part of the process. 3. Learn theory. Understanding the principles helps learn what works. There are a ton of great teachers on KZbin. Rick Beato and Holistic Songwriting are two great places. (Rick can get deep, so don't get overwhelmed there though.) Berklee School of Music had some good stuff online too. 4. Dissect and analyze other songs, especially what you like in them to find out what works. Again, Rick Beato and Holistic Songwriting both have a series on their channels that does this. Do the same to your own songs once you've written a few, helps see what habits you have. 5. Learn some basic recording, production and beat writing. Production is so important in creating a more polished product. 6. Have fun and worship God through the process. Trust Him for fresh ideas and inspiration. And have fun! Good luck. 😇👊

@@dustinmccrindle343 thanks man!! These are great! I'm the lead guitarist! I just started to sing as well and man is that scary haha. I play on an SG that I've altered all the parts out so its just a epiphone body that's original. It's my special guitar had it for 9 years now! My other guitar is a p39 Riveria which was my originally my Jazz only guitar but it has such a nice tone when I tried for worship! My background is that I started in Jazz and played through middle-school and high school! I played for my church as a back up during highschool but obviously not having the faith i have now. I just played to play. Now when i do lead or so i dont think of it more for the music i start to look it at it as ways that it adds to the song and gives It a stronger impact ya know? Yeah I'm going to check those guys out for help as well! I've written a few lead lines for stuff but finding the rest it where i get a block!
