Her English doesn't sound American any longer. By knowing that, we all know how much effort she puts in being a Ballerina and her Russian. Respect!

I wish I discovered this sooner. A few days ago, I watched the original from 2010 were she was still a student, and 15. Now she’s a principle. That’s incredible! Keep doing such amazing stuff. I wish I could dance as amazing as you.

Nice. I've never heard that it's a sin if you aren't already "wet" (sweating) when you come to the barre, but as I get older I find that it's TRUE because if I'm not already thoroughly warmed up, the barre is a waste of time if not a complete disaster!!

Yes because those muscles can actually do things! Same for my tendons and joints.

Yes absolutely, I have to have at least 20-30 minutes of some sort of stretch warm up before bar I am one of the few girls in my class that actually do that and I don’t know how the ones that don’t can just do barre without warm up (and somehow they are still amazing like I don’t get it I can’t stand in first position if I haven’t atleast done my middle splits😂)

I find it so sad how there are still so many ballerinas that don't eat enough. There are ways to stay slim and still eat in a healthy manner and enough portion! I'm not judging her specifically, I'm just pointing out something that I believe shouldn't still be supported.

@@victoriabrussolo9181 You're very right. Humans eat way more than they need usually. And she has a perfect, healthy figure.
@annemeridian23494 жыл бұрын
As long as she gets enough nutrients and calories overall eating a strict 3 meals a day isn’t necessary. There’s actually a lot of evidence that different forms of intermittent fasting can improve health. It’s also difficult for an athlete to keep energy up if they feel full. Eating a meal activates the parasympathetic nervous system that actually forces your body to want to rest so that it can allocate energy to digest food instead of use energy for any physical activity.

What are they supposed to do ? Dance on bent knees? You must be a westerner. (Inferior training)
@erinharper58052 ай бұрын
It really doesn’t look like hyperextension gets corrected anymore. I trained in the 80s and 90s and was taught to have a slight bend in my knee to achieve a straight/non hyperextended line. But the dancers these days seem to train hyperextended

Come on girl! You need some protein. Have some yogurt, or something. You're bones, and muscles must be starving? The average person needs something like 120 grams of carbohydrates on a daily basis for brain function.
@worldofjess786210 жыл бұрын
go easy on her...she actually does suffer from an eating disorder, which is a mental illness. not sure if she's been treated, but I know she suffers.
@gaillynch374510 жыл бұрын
That's sad. She is doing no good for herself. All that starvation is going to blow up in her face one day. There was a principal dancer in Boston that died from heart failure. All the coffee, and smoking will age her faster than anything. Her muscles will atrophy, and she will start breaking bones. I saw the Alvin Aily dance troupe back in October, and they were in great shape. Not one once of flab on them, but obviously healthier than your typical ballerina.
@worldofjess786210 жыл бұрын
Gail Lynch To my knowledge, Joy does not smoke. And her eating disorder didn't start until she arrived in Russia a few years ago. Most of the Russian dancers have eating disorders as well. I used to train with Joy. she is exquisite, just hope she stays healthy.
@gaillynch374510 жыл бұрын
Sorry for that assumption. I thought I saw her smoking in the video. A lot of girls think that smoking will stop them from eating. Nicotine also is known to cut the appetite. Sorry for that mistake.
@worldofjess786210 жыл бұрын
Gail Lynch No need to apologize. Maybe she does now. It wouldn't surprise me, most of the Russian dancers do have some sort of relationship with nicotine, for the reasons you stated. I really hope she hasn't turned to that.
