I was amazed that you could send the heart from your computer to the scan-n-cut! Wow! Modern technology blows me away! Your heart pillow came out cute. Can't wait to see the wreath one. The horse quilt is beautiful. I know what you mean, giving such a nice gift to somebody, then they feel like cheap skates if they don't give you something. They don't understand that quilters and crafters just like to give things to people!! The joy is in the creating and giving. For sure. HILARIOUS about the glitter. Laughed out loud!

I absolutely love the pillow it looks great. I have a scan-n-cut and the Solaris so I will make a pillow for my friend that is 99 years old and send it to her with a chocolate cake and a heart mug rug for Valentine's Day. Thanks for sharing and making my day. I always enjoy your videos and have shared your sewing with a friends.

Hi Joy, I love your videos. I’m a quilter that does freehand. I can draw with my sewing machine. It just took practice and a love of sketching. I took up watercolor painting years ago to help in my selection of color in my quilts. As a bonus I learned more about drawing. I turned 87 this January. My body has changed making it harder to fit my shape. I’m struggling but it’s still fun. Love to you and Jerry.

Joy, I may have a Hint for you and Scan n cut. You tube has a series on SnC from England. I believe her name is Mel. Not sure of the last name. However, she does a great job with teaching how to use the SnC. When using the machine for a simple check, and you have numerous pictures on the SnC but just want one, use the arrows on the screen to identify the spot you wish to cut. This way you won't have to delete all your pictures for one trial. I hope this makes sense. Keep up the great work with your videos. You make me want to learn more. Also after having Cancer and going through Chemo, surgery and radiation I lost some spunk. You give it back to me. Thanks so much. Margie

Joy - I made the scarecrow and to make it go smoother I went through the pattern and made a spreadsheet of every fabric. I got tired of u folding and remolding the fabric. So I cut the entire quilt and then the sewing was so much easier. I put each section in a folder so when I got to a section, I pulled the folder and sewed the pieces inside.

I love your pillow cover! I have a scan and cut and a Cricut maker. I also have an embroidery machine along with the embrilliance. BUT since I got sick several years ago, I haven’t used any thing. In fact, I have a serger that I’m afraid to use! I have had it for years, as well. For as many videos as I have watched, I should be a genius, but I’m not. One day…hopefully before my time on earth is over…I want to use all of my machines and create some lovely small items like knitting project bags that are appliquéd and/or quilted. Until then, I will continue to watch my people and learn, learn, learn. So please keep making these tutorials! I’ve told you before that you are an excellent teacher! You’ll earn enough money that Jerry can relax in his man cave for a week or two watching his favorite movies. Take care of yourself and of Jerry. See you soon, I hope….real soon! Btw, I like the long videos. I can take a rest and resume if I need. Until next time….❤

I still have my scarecrow as well. I am about to head out to the national parks to work for the non profit. Tiny class b van camper in a campground. I will be taking my featherweight due to size. I think i will finish cutting the scarecrow and i can piece the blocks , possibly put the quilt top together. Not sure. I will have everything cut and organized into zip lock bags before i leave. We will see how it goes. But i think i am going to concentrate on cross stitch, embroidery, and slow stitch /fabric collage while i am gone. I think i will be gone most of 2026 as i also plan on snowbirding to Florida this next winter and spring.

I so enjoyed seeing you this afternoon. Guess what? I’m the one who was misdiagnosed with cancer. I did have to have my gallbladder removed. So I went to the hospital January 14 expecting to have it done laparoscopic and be able to come home that afternoon. That didn’t happen. Surgeon started out doing laparoscopic but couldn’t proceed because I had too much scar tissue and adhesions. So I woke up with 10 inch incision just under my right breast, pain, and hearing I’m being admitted to the hospital. I spent 4.5 days in hospital. First few days at home bit rough but I’m doing really great. I finally got back in my bed couple nights ago and I walked 2 blocks last couple of days. I still have some pain but it’s mostly wear drainage tube is. My activity is increasing but I get tired after just few minutes of doing something. I’m going to try and see what I can do in my sewing room tomorrow. I just want to thank you & Jerry and all on this site who kept me in their thoughts and prayed for me. All Glory to God! Oh and I’m cut on the bias. lol.
