@Thumper and what if the world is praising God? we should stop? read Leviticus in full because anyone who thinks that getting a tattoo is wrong must also follow everything else the chapter states not to mention the entire book such as not cutting the sides of your head or eating any meat with the blood still in it or wearing any clothes woven with two types of materials... heck even the next chapter states that if you disrespect your parents you should be flogged ( paraphrasing). don't be hard on yourself if you have a tattoo. please

@The girl who can’t game - Tattoos are *of the world* there is NO doubt. When the Apostle Paul says in 1 Timothy 2:9-10, "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works". ~~Then WHY would it be okay to have any tattoos? Tattoos have NO part with, "shamefacedness and sobriety", do they? People also need to remember that ALL the Apostle Paul and ANYONE says in the Scriptures is all breathed by the Spirit of God. DOES having tattoos exude *holiness* ? I *don't* think so. Jesus said to be Holy, as His Father in Heaven is Holy. Nothing Holy about this world, and *nothing* Holy about tattoos. OH, and although when Jesus died He fulfilled some of the Law, the Moral Law still stands, and Joyce ADDED to the second part of that verse. Leviticus 19:28 reads, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord." The "for dead" does NOT follow "nor print any marks upon you", does it? (Which violates Rev. 22's warnings, but I digress...) Christianity isn't rocket science. We have to "live in" this world, but the Scriptures are clear that we are not to *be OF this world*. Apostle Paul is clear on ALL we women are to do AND be. (As is Titus 2). "Bible tattoo" or any other tattoo is NOT ever something a Christian (especially) woman should even let cross her mind. That's NOT being "legalistic", it is NOT "adding works", it is NOT "baptized in prune juice". It's living in obedience to a Holy God. If she chooses not to, that's on her, but to lead others into what is clearly sin is only one reason as Christians, we are to. "Mark and avoid" her. WHY do we stay away from women like Joyce Meyer OTHER than her *many* false teachings? 2 John 9-11 - "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. That audience the size it is shows that people are not reading their Bibles. (OR don't care what God has to say). HIS word should be FIRST in ALL matters. Always.

The little clothing he had on was very humbling, nothing from the riches of royalty. This was an intentional act to express his willingness to humble himself as a king of a nation before God in order to fully praise God and give Him all the glory. As for the idea of judging, the Bible commands us to judge by putting everything to the test based on the word of God and His standard. If you see a man murder another man, what do you call him? In order to call him a murderer, you would have to judge him to be one, right?

Many have found a new way but I love the old. When I fell in love with Jesus, I didn't want to look or act like the world. I wanted to be a light to the world. I'm so thankful for an old preacher man that preached Holy Ghost conviction down on me and I had that born again experience 🙌. Y'all realize that by us debating on tattoos and such that it's just the enemy's way of distracting us from the true glory of God. Focus on that and reaching out to the people that need it most. In our earth History, Roman Catholics used to burn, kill non-catholics while carrying a cross on their neckless. Joyce is telling people instead of going to preach to the world, instead of helping the needy and orphanages but go ahead and tatoo yourself the name of Jesus on your body as a witness to the world. I have never heard such interpretion ever. Unfortunatly it is the only verse that clearly speaks of the tatoos which was associted with paganism and many people are misinterpreting it to fit their agenda or feel good message.

I will pray for people continously because I strongly doubt God would let tattoos keep anyone from seeking his face. I thank God for being God and seeing so much more than my mistakes, the filthy things that I was exposed to as a child that caused me to stay away from God. Most of all I want to thank God for the people in the church, that looked past my pagan ways and interceded for me based on their love for God and not letting scripture override obedience. In my Bible Leviticus 19:28 says “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.” I love Joyce but she did not finish reading that scripture. Even if Jesus and God have tattoos, God has commanded us not to get them. But I understand also that the church should not judge people who do. @@MD-gw4rk the Bible in the new testament tells us to be modest, to flee appearance of evil. Jesus' on the cross does not give us freedom to do to our bodies whatever we wish. In fact in the book of 1Corrinthians we are told that we are not our own coz our bodies were bought with a price (the blood of Jesus). Tattoos are not modest and people who were then are viewed as rebels by both religious and non religious people and thus don't give glory to God.

flash boys Pain is involved when getting a tattoo.. and I don’t think anything that involves voluntary pain is of God. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tattoo of a bible verse... it’s not Godly and it’s only recent that Christians have began to fall into this trap. It’s of the world, and lukewarm mega churches are the ones who are telling Christians it’s fine to get tattoos. What is she talking about at 1:59?! This is not what the Bible says read this properly! I obviously had to go double check after a statement like that “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬ If you read the whole chapter and in the context of this verse, it is much more complex than Joyce is interpreting it as. almost 3 years ago, at almost 22 years old i almost took my own life. I was abused as a kid, broken, depressed, anorexic, bulimic, suicidal. I went in & out of psych units like it was a game of Chess. Suicide watch. I was on enough Antidepressants to kill a horse. I hated myself. I wanted out. I wanted the pain to stop. The gaslighting* to end. *(when a psycho makes a sane person question their own sanity, and thus think they themselves are the insane one). I wanted power. I got into witchcraft. I thought it would give me the identity i wanted, to be set apart from people who hurt me. It only made me sicker. Sicker. Thats what it did to me. The doctors said i’dnever get well. That i would suffer severe Chronic Manic depression, and never be well, that id be stuck on antidepressants all of my life. I would plot suicide on a daily basis, binging and purging my food as often as opening and closing a door. The pain was too real. People choked me. Assaulted me. Told me i was ugly, i felt worthless. Nothing ever got better. Then my mother died. The (1) & only soul who ever loved /emotionally supported me was removed from the earth. I was stuck living with people who broke me, ruined my identity, thus causing me to hate God. I thought God hated me, that he was just like the ones who tortured me, a family of abusers, who cover up all their actions with the mask of religion. I didnt know that God is on my side. I didnt know that Jesus would Love and Defend me, and fight for me and that He later would heal me, rescue me from Family. The ones who caused me pain. The ones who choked me for wearing a necklace. I moved out after family threatened to throw all my belongings on the front yard, and have me permanently institutionalized in an insane asylum, when they were the ones who caused my mental illness via abuse. They blamed me for the abuse they did to me. To take my life in an insane asylum when they were the ones who made me suicidal. Next morning i spoke with my dead moms parents who let me live with them. I stayed on the antidepressants, prescribed. But they only made me sicker. I got deeper and deeper into witchcraft, thinking it was a solution. But it made me even more suicidal. Self hatred was inescapable. All my cards have fallen down. I have nothing left. But out. I wanted out. I decided i was going to kill myself. I was going to take all my pills. But then Jesus stepped in. I didnt die. I surrendered my life to Jesus to make me well and heal me. The deity i blamed for me being abused wanted to heal me. He Was fighting for me and Loved me all along. He wanted to love me. He wanted to give me His Heart. HE LOVES ME. JESUS. LOVES. ME . Jesus miraculously healed me - i am off all drugs and dont need them and i dont have any mental illnesses. I have a job and am totally healed , full of joy. I’m now a born again Christian, in my 20’s who wants the entire world to know that JESUS WANTS TO HEAL YOU HE. LOVES. YOU.

One of the major commands from God is love- He said we should love one another. Did you all show love in the comments? This is the one and only time that I have ever disagreed with a teaching from Pastor/Teacher Joyce Meyer. No love lost at all. The correct scripture is: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:28 NLT It's only the cuttings that specifies "for the dead." However, the Scripture (inspired by God Almighty) states do not mark your skin with tattoos. At the end of the verse God says, "I am the Lord." He's saying that He doesn't approve of tattoos at all. Can this verse/subject be revisited?

@@1luv1heartful This has been my personal experience. The message of Jesus can be better understood and put into proper context when viewed through the eyes of unconditional love. The more open your heart is to love, the more the scriptures open up to you and to your understanding. Especially, the closer you get to unconditional love. Jesus's words become more n more alive and His message as a flower coming into the fullness of its bloom. And, the way to open your heart, is to follow Jesus's teachings and His personal example. Jesus Himself says that love, is first and foremost, of the highest importance to Him; and it should also be to those who wish to follow Him (Christians). He says to love God, to love your enemy, and to love your neighbor. That means to love everyone, no matter who they are, or what they have ever done, or ever do. Love is always the answer, according to Christ. Christ teaches us to love "everyone", including our enemy (those whom wish you ill will, or whom commit attrocities of evil unto you). But, in order to truly be able to truly "love" such people, we must first remove the bitterness from within our own heart. This is why Christ teaches that we are to forgive "everyone", without conditions or exception; just as He forgave everyone, without conditions or exception; including those whom had betrayed Him, tortured Him, and crucified Him. As followers of Christ, we are to model ourselves after Christ, and also forgive everyone, no matter who, and no matter why. Jesus also says let he who is without sin cast the first stone. In other words, He is saying that we are not to cast judgement upon anyone, ever, unless we ourselves are without any of our own sins. That we instead should focus on removing "our own sins", not focus on anyone else's. But, only God Himself is without sin, and therefore only God is qualified to judge anyone. The less that we judge others, and the more that we forgive others, the more we are able to love others. Bcuz we remove the bitterness from within our heart and mind so that we give our heart the space for love to dwell. Unconditional love.

the Bible also says that whatever things that stumble brothers and sisters we should not doing them even these things are not wrong, you don't need to have a tattoo in order to show you are not legalistic, its not what the Bible or Jesus teaches, in my opinion.

Please remember that Christ did not come to abolish the law. The new covenant does not delete the old covenant. It is by the law that we are shown how grateful we are to be for grace. Paul teaches us not to abuse grace in a means to justify sin. However, you are a new creation and the things of the world should not hold any attraction to you.

She's not saying that. And the verse you're using out of context is referring to THE Law... The ten commandments! There are more than 600-700 levitical laws! This particular verse in leviticus is in reference to the idolatrous rituals of the pagans who would cut and mark their bodies in worship of their gods and the dead!

The point is tattoos are not of the world. Unless of course you have a tattoo of the devil or something evil. Please read the chapter and you will understand the intentions of the people. Read my other comments as well. Tattoos and haircuts are not sin even though Jesus told them in this chapter not to do either and many more things. They were worshipping dead people as idols when he told them this. Pray for wisdom when you read God's word.

Hector Rodriguez I get what you're saying, but the thing is they're not just "offended" by tattoos, they're trying to condemn those with tattoos. They're trying to say, with some kind of authority, that getting them is a sin when they obviously do not at all understand the context of the verse from leviticus people misuse. Not just that, but I'm seeing a ton of mysticism with the nonsense that a tattoo will bring demonic forces in your life. I'm not saying that's not possible for those not in Christ or for people with wrong motives, but that's because of their motives, NOT bc of an inanimate thing (ink). And the completely unbiblical claim that bleeding, or pain, opens you up to demons. 🙄 And, still there's more, the complete ignorance about the tattoo process (at least in America) in general! So, instead of looking at the context of the verse from leviticus, along with the facts about tattooing from people who actually know, they just shout out ignorance and condemnation which IS hypocritical & based in legalism AND turns unbelievers away. This is exactly what Joyce is talking about. Then they usually go on to condemn her & call her a false teacher bc she's saying tattoos won't send you to hell. Even though she's right. Some things I'm just done with listening to religious hypocrites about. They don't understand a thing about grace or evangelism.

I agree with you. But at the same time, Jesus did call out (rebuke) the Pharisees who were always quoting Scripture, and trying to condemn people while ignoring their own sin. I'll be the first to admit I can get feisty when people (self-proclaiming Christians) start misusing Scripture, or speak with authority about what they obviously don't understand, but I would hope it didn't equate to not being Christ-like. I watch what I say, although I wouldn't say I've perfected meekness! You can take the girl outta the hood, but...it will always be a part of me. And, usually it's not a bad thing lol, but it does not mix well with certain things. And I see a lot of that in Joyce, too. She's very blunt. She went through SO MUCH as a kid...not sure if you know, but it was beyond bad. This causes a major callousness in some people, and some never recover. It's not an excuse to mistreat people or act in a way that causes more division. Christ does make us new creations. You're right about the way we approach things and how it seems to those weak in the faith though. But I went to a church for many years where there was so much legalism. Not from the pastor, thankfully, but for example, in Sunday school one week (an adult ladies class), the teacher asked in reference to compromise "What would you never do?" And one of the ladies answered, in a disgusted tone, "Get a tattoo." And the teacher agreed. Well, there happened to be a very young lady, a single mom with a baby, who had been coming for a few weeks. She had quite a few tattoos. And guess what...she never came back. I can only imagine how that made her feel. One thing I can tell you, is that I would never react in such a way with an unbeliever...they know not what they do. Anyway, sorry for the book. Okay then, I hope you don't have your ears pierced, and that you never indulge in junk food or soda and that you work out five days a week, and that you don't pluck your eyebrows, and that you don't shave.... Also hope you don't have any scars from injuries, or skin conditions, that the Lord permitted to happen to you. Or, maybe.... God is more concerned with your heart than your temporary body & that getting a tattoo for reasons that glorify him is like the intricately carved pillars in the tabernacle. Also, consider that Jesus willfully took the ultimate pain & has literal holes in his wrists and feet bc He died for us on a cross! I think He's okay with my tattoos.

There will always be uptight, religious people who make God look bad. Joyce loves God. She has been through hell and back. She preaches from the bible and with her whole heart. I don't see that from all teachers of the word. I will always defend Joyce.
