@@freshliving4199 Hi, thanks for commenting back and asking questions. This comment will be long however, this is how my relationship with Jesus started and is continuing. Approximately 18yrs ago I was asked to go to church. I had heard the Gospel where God had loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. See, I had always had the perspective that God was an angry God who was waiting to throw a lightning bolt down on those who sinned and weren't perfect. I didn't know He was a loving God. When I heard the sermon about God's Grace and Mercy something on the inside of me felt there was truth. I felt excitement and knew that I needed Jesus. So I raised my hand and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Unfortunately, I didn't know much about the Bible so I didn't know how the devil was truly real and his tactics. I didn't feel comfortable asking questions. Part was because everyone I met already had a deep relationship with God. Part was at that time not too many members would reach out and answer questions. Plus, we had an amazing Pastor but he was a deep theological teacher so every sermon felt like it was over my head. I felt like I had to be on that same level of teaching. At the same time I felt God was trying to change me because He was asking me to get rid of influences that kept me away from God. I didn't understanding and felt like God was changing everything about me so I ran away from God for several years. Then, something major happened in my life which devastated me. Unfortunately I went down a destructive path. I started to realize my children needed some stability and love in there life and at that moment I couldn't give them. I started going back to church faithfully and found a program for my kids that taught them about God. I started to see God through child's eyes. I started to see the love of God and how my children's love for God was so open and amazing. I asked God how is it that they have this beautiful relationship with you with no boundaries but I'm stuck trying to figure You out. God spoke to me and said You have to surrender your life fully to me. I knew God had forgiven me of my sins but I couldn't forgive myself. One day during a Saturday service worship, I honestly saw a vision of this fatherly figure of a head coming down towards me. He had reached out His hands one at a time and placed His hand on each side of my face and kissed me on the forehead and said You are still my daughter. I knew then God truly loved me. I still had problems with forgiving myself. I became so depressed. One day I was going to work and was really bad off. I needed to distract myself and remember a station that played Christian music. So, I turned it on and a song by Manifest called Human was playing: "Cause I wear my heart on my sleeve If you cut me I'll bleed I know I cannot erase Every mistake that I've made I never said I was an angel, no I never said I wouldn't break down But life keeps on moving By now you should know I'm only human" That song hit me like a ton of bricks. I was only human and God knows that and He sent His Son Jesus because I was human, flawed. So when I parked my car at my job I yelled at God. I said that I was tired of living but I didn't want to die. Either take the way I feel away or take me off this earth. I fully surrender...take everything of me. I heard an audible voice saying FINALLY..and I had this sensation come upon me. I didn't know it at that time but I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Ever since then I've been following God. Trust me its been an up and down relationship on my end but God isn't looking for a perfect relationship. He is looking at your heart, for someone who genuinely loves Him and is pursuing Him. I had gotten my eyes off of God right as covid hit. Jesus poured out His heart to me to wake up and get my focus back on Him. I repented and did so and now I have a deeper relationship with Him. I can truly look back on my life and see how God had been with me at all times even before I accepted Jesus. One example is....I was in the process of committing suicide and heard this still small voice. He said I couldn't do this and your mom would be devastated, and can't do this because your dad would be devastated, and you can't do this because your brothers and sisters would be devastated....it was a conversation back and forth. Finally I had enough and stopped listening to that voice and went to continue with suicide and my ex at the time barged in. God had distracted me just long enough so I couldn't kill myself. If it wasn't for God, I wouldn't be talking with you today. As far as what has changed, everything. I honestly feel this unexplainable love that God has for me. I feel like no matter what I go through He is literally with me at all times. I have a reason to live. I have more peace and joy then I ever did. God is showing me how to love others the way He does for us so I can minister to others. Its an overwhelming, unexplainable love and compassion God has for me. Maybe better way of putting it is I have a better life. What people don't grasp is they can have a true deep relationship with God. Its not just reading a Bible and going to church. You can talk with Him and have an honest loving relationship where you can feel His presence and conversate like we are. Its all about how much of a relationship you want to have with God......a God who just heals or fix your situations or a God who obviously heals and helps but also you can deeply love.
