I discovered Deerhoof earlier this week via the online Denton, TX radio station 92.9 KUZU-FM. I'm a fan now. I also love this blending of _mariachi_ music, Congolese _soukous_ and rock. The music world could use more adventurous artists such as Deerhoof. I wish them tremendous success.

They are a band you simply MUST see live - the energy, the skill & their fan ethic; usually take turns on the merchant table & spend as much time with the crowd as they possibly can. I first caught them at the National Festival Hall London with Super Furry Animals on New Years Eve 2007 - my mind was blown & I go see them every time they’re in the UK & they never fail to blow your mind. I am a drummer & have spoke to Greg so many times that he recognises me now & always says hi, He is my favourite live 0:04 drummer ever & they are my favourite band. Other albums I like are; Milk Man, the Runners Four, Reveille, Friend Opportunity, Offend Maggie, Break-Up Songs, the Magic .....but they are all good & you have a bounty of excellent music to discover if you get hooked.

Not familiar with Juicy Panic, but Deerhoof pre-dates them by 5 years. They also had 6 albums that pre-date Juicy Panic's 1, and 21 albums total including this new record. So I'd say if you're going to play that game, which is rarely worthwhile, the shoe is on the other foot.

@@sscillitani It's all good. With regards to Juicy Panic, their album is much more electronic than this. I'm not even sure what I'd call it genre-wise, it's a weird, experimental mish-mash of electronic, IDM, and children's music. It's worth a listen for being unique, at the very least.
