I concur with your comments, and would, as a general audience listener, advise Joyner to keep on keep'n on, i.e., keep on doing what he's doing, putting out material and perhaps expanding his horizons with each piece. He's a gifted artist and deserves some attention for his hard work. I'll admit he hasn't "grabbed" me just yet, but I can appreciate his time and talent, and expect that he will eventually make it big.

Joyner Lucas gives me hope for the future of hip hop. Lyrically he is a refreshing change from most newer songs. Bonus points for being popular without having to mention the same played out topics in all his songs. It holds him back from being "mainstream" but I hope in the end it changes the mainstream.

This was a cool banger definitely. In my opinion I can see the more commercial side to it which isn't bad at all since it would be catering to a broader audience but it also wasn't the best of the best compared to other tracks that he did which contained more denser substance. I loved Joyners music for a good minute now. Always respected his talent and great for music especially with a lot of the music coming out now days.I feel like Eminem put him on hardcore with him as that feature in "Lucky you" and in his interviews he was talking about how great of a rapper he thinks he is. That song was the biggest song off the Kamikaze Album so I think a lot of Eminem fans are going to be following him a lot more now. I'm hoping that was the last look I suppose to push him into that "Super Star" Level.
@pineapplefairy84616 жыл бұрын
Lucky You on the Eminem Kamikaze album went platinum already as a single, giving Joyner his first Platinum record. He is in the start of the explosion right now, this is a great time for a bridge to his normal work, it introduces who he is to his new audience after the Em feature in an accessible song for more casual listeners. It's not my favorite Joyner song, not by a long shot, but it is a brilliant marketing move for where he is poised in the industry.

I think Joyner is following the same blueprint guys like Kendrick, Cole, Em, Hov, Drake, Logic, Wayne, ect. took on their way to the top He started by proving he could rap as well as anyone; flows, bars, wordplay, etc. Followed that up with showing he's a bit of a visionary, or creative to the point of knowing he's a true artist; visuals, deeper content, changing perspectives, storytelling, etc. And is now rolling into a phase of making more mainstream content, and collaborating with stars(Chris Brown, Eminem) to push his image into the everyman's palette. I think he's bound to be the next one in that category, even though I dont think he's necessarily as great as those guys listed.
