Sunday is one of my favorites. Reminds me of being in church. Very difficult to reconcile your faith with your sexual orientation . But GOD loves us regardless. We are his creation . Doesn't matter to him. He's all about LOVE 😀💙❤️💖📖🙏

No, child. I will be 60 years old on June 10th of this year. I've raised a brother and a baby sister, and I almost believe my 80-year-old-mother will understand that I am not responsible for lifting her out of the muck of her life. Joy's voice is her own and the culmination and survival of many generations. We have not been free in so long to acknowledge our pain or our joy. Anything that happens now and feels real is a gift. Bless you, Phil! Bless you, Joy! Please take your voices past your generations into new decades. It is time for us to fall in love with the beautiful children that we have cleansed the world for. Please come and sing and create and just be your joyous beautiful selves! We tried to fight for you!

My daughter sent me this song to cheer me as I have recently lost my husband whom I spent 30 yrs with. It's a lovely song and someone that I used to be is quite descriptive. I will be listening to more of your music miss Joy as your words touch the heart. Thank you Laura m

The Tracy Chapman comparisons are obvious but the sound is hers only as are her struggles, dreams, and her perseverance to soldier on and live her life on her terms.

Before this afternoon, I had never heard of Joy Oladukun. "i see America" popped up as a KZbin suggestion. I listened to it and posted it on my Facebook. I have been listening to this album, and I like it greatly. Count me a fan.

To be honest, last week she popped up somewhere. KZbin? Pandora? Funny how we can find someone who "sees" us randomly on the internet, then have a totally unrequited love affair when you listen obsessively to everything they ever put out. :) I love her. I hope that for the rest of my life I get to hear her perform and produce music. :)

One of my favorite albums of all time! Joy Oladokun has a voice that awaken your soul and her lyrics sing to your heart. I can resonate with every song on this album and I am so thankful to have found Joy while I was fighting a deep depression. The words gave me hope to at least feel understood in this cold world where love is barren. Keep rocking Joy!!! ❤

I’ve been streaming this constantly on repeat. Probably the best thing I’ve listened to in a really long time, just wow. These lyrics are just so intelligently beautiful. Thank you for this absolute masterpiece. I’m obsessed and need to share this, everyone should hear you. You’re a timeless musician. Fan girl moment 😘
