@@johnnymartinjohansen the best time usually is the Midsummer or Christmas time:) I recomnend to visit Rundales palace and hiking/tracking trails. Like kemeri national park or “Ieriķu dzirnavas”, or “Cecīlijas taka” if you like walks and nature:) also Tērvete nature park is a nice place with many options what to do:)

There are many Best Places in Latvia and among them is Aluksne which must also rate among the most beautiful!

It would be behind Daugavpils and Bauska IMHO, and on par with Jekabpils. If you are ready to visit a nice unvisited place Aizpute would also beat Aluksne. Still a good offer, among top 15 towns, if we do it this way and separate Kemeri national park from Jurmala, as the visitor's center IS in Jurmala.

Aglona is actually located in the South-East, not North-East and best combined with a visit to Daugavpils. Generally a good overview, but I wouldn't put Jelgava in this top, since much of the city was destroyed during WW2. Instead I would go for places like Ventspils, Talsi, Līgatne, Limbaži.

Talsi is a bit boring. Limbaži lacks something. Ventspils too. Līgatne is one of the greatest places in Latvia, but I've managed to find no way there but canoe.
