I agree, these Salamanders, being a lighter coloured Marine, definitely need either edge highlighting or weathering - eg as on the Imperial Fists and White Scars. This is not so critical with darker coloured Marines such as the recent Dark Angels which I received last week and see they do have very slight edge highlights. Also sadly missing on the Salamanders are any decals/deco to the front calf armour - making their legs appear bland. I think JT are producing these so fast they are having to cut costs on paint. Still good to have them in my collection.

I'm very much looking forward to getting these guys. Thanks to this channel and many others, I've been learning about Warhammer 40k lore and the Salamanders along with Raven Guard are my favorite chapters. I recently received the Raven Guard set and can't wait to get my hands on the Salamanders. Amazing unboxing and review as usual! Thank you!

I get people are disappointed at the lack of wash and detailing, but this is also the lowest price release yet. Personally I rather they skimp on the paint and pass the cost savings on to the consumer. The fact I got T'kren for the same price as a McFarlane 40k fig makes me more willing to buy more. McFarlane may be bigger and more value for money, but the scale of these are perfect for say... 40k VS Halo 4inch display.

I am not an artist or painter but while they look really cool in green. The solid green is so clean it looks kinda cartoonish. a bit too cartoonish.

I wish their backpacks were green instead of black, like how they're usually painted before this. Not a fan of the blocking effect a differently coloured backpack has on their looks.

The hand flamer and power hammer that Sergeant Krajax comes with are both unique to him (though the pyre pistol that Sword Brethren Granbertus wields is broadly similar).

I kinda like the paint on them 😅 and all the weapons on these guys (all the 40k figs) are super cool. I guess I should try and get some before I say I don't like them. They're just so bulky and I'm not a big fan of bulky figures. Excellent review brotha 😁👌

@Awesome Action Toys yeah one of the main reasons I didn't want any was the size and articulation, but everyone I've seen u review seem to have pretty good articulation. So yeah I'm gonna have to get some. Which figures would you recommend I try and get? I know there's a lot of different ones.

I was really looking foward to these as I loved the green colour in the promotional images but being so flat with no shading definitely feels like a rushed cost cutting decision, I mean Joytoy are releasing so many figures a month now for multiple lines that it feels unsustainiable. I am hoping the Tempestus Scions fare better in your next review? Any sign of the Joytoy Infinity Tank Hunter wave being released soon? I have high hopes for them but don't dare preorder them incase they disappoint in hand!
