JP is one of the very few people that I feel extremly bad for anyone not able to speak or understand German. Hes by far one of the best car youtubers but especially personality out there. He lives by his idea of how hed like to see the car culture and is the most down to earth person. He just thinks of himself as a normal dude and just loves building cars and you just feel it from the videos that hes just having fun. He does it not for show or anything. And while giving off that aura of just loving cars, hes also an expert in what he does and explains everything so good while building things. I learned how so many things in cars function. I mean everyone knows how an engine works etc, but just all the details of why certain things work how and why specific things add power etc. Proud to be a Schokohase!

I have spent hours trying to find German subtitles for some of his videos and am gutted that there are no captions on them. I even went as far as translating some of the stuff myself just to watch videos. I studied German for 4 years in highschool but didn't get on with it and generally didn't like it (having to memorize pronouns of everything was just difficult coming from a Slavic language where everything has an easy way to be remembered). I understand a little bit but nowhere near enough to watch videos and completely immerse myself in them. Really hate myself for not learning German sooner now and regretting it hahah

PuR3xGODx It’s not a S4! It started out as a regular B5 2.4 V6 Quattro that had the DTM bodykit done and then JP bought it and swapped in the inline 5. Most of the process is documented (not in particularly great techincal detail though) on his channel.

Lustigste ja, Sympathischste finde ich definitiv nicht. Allein, weil er im Video sagt alle Autos die da stehen gehören ihm. Der Carrera 2 gehört Porsche, der M6 GT3 Rowe und der rote GTI Clubsport S gehört VW. Auch sagt er im Video die richtig schnellen Autos seien gerade nicht da, obwohl sein GTR der schnellste ist und da war. Das sind zwar nur kleine Unwahrheiten, aber die haben mich gestört.

Und wenn du gefragt wirst ob die Autos dir gehören und du ja sagst, obwohl 2 Meter von dir ein Auto einer anderen Firma steht ist es schlichtweg gelogen. Ob es jetzt böse absicht war oder nicht sei dahingestellt. Auch wenn es nur kleine Unwahrheiten sind, es macht ihn ETWAS unsympathisch für MICH. Mag ich seine Videos trotzdem - Ja.

StarboardHelms The difference is that you could actually drive your modified cars in the US, whereas here in Germany you can’t because most modifications result in cars being illegal to drive on public roads... That’s part of the reason our car culture isn’t nearly as big as in the states

@@fernandoferrarii its true :( I drive a 96 Toyota Starlet with 75hp (biggest shitbox on planet earth) with NO MODS except for some alloy wheels that are 20mm (1/8 inch) wider and 2 inches bigger than my car documents allow and I got stopped by the police and they took my car and my drivers license... Had to get them both back at the police station the next day and had to bring legal replacement wheels, also I had to pay like 300€ in fines, that's how bad the situation is in Germany right now.

I live around 30 km away from dortmund and visit this place regularly and this video reminds me of how crazy this place actually is. Jp can be really proud of this dream garage and believe me it was hard work for him to get where he is right now. So tons of respect for this down to earth guy.
