It is not my intention to offend anybody's feelings. I'm just meaning the hair on this girls looked so beautiful and natural that you fall in love with it. Ok, maybe they use hairspray or curlers because to be a public figure you have to look your best. And I also remember that Afroamerican ladies use to wear their afros with so much proud and they also looked fabulous. But now we have become so obsessed with our hair looking good that sometimes it looks fictitious because now it's not hairspray but dyes, serum, mousse, keratin, straighteners, extensions... and the list goes on. How do I know? Cause I use to do it. It took me a long time to realize I was a slave of my hair. And you know what? At the end I like my hair as it is now without all those "extras" and I don't care if people like it or not. I like it and that's what's count! And I'm sorry if I offended you with my past comment but that was not my intention!

@@every1665 Females are born with, in my opinion, a naturally beautiful canvas which doesn't need any amendments, save possibly for simply pierced ears or even a small tattoo (10p piece sized?) of a bird, butterfly or flower etc tastefully located. I would probably tolerate that - being no doubt seen as an old fuddy-duddy. Starting to cover themselves in daubings and piercings, I see only a defacement of the body. However, we live in a society that cherishes freedom of personal expression, and of course that's how it should be - well up to a point anyway. And that means that a sizeable proportion of women will claim their right to 'adorn' their bodies as they see fit - and think that it improves themselves immeasurably. But equally there are many men, painted and pierced just as much if not more, and who will think a woman covered in tattoos and piercings is a thing of great beauty. And of course for a similarly covered woman, that will be justification for her actions.

In 1975 my life was great. I had a good job for a big corporation in which I was a rising star. I still had my TR6 Triumph to tool around in . After work me and some co workers would hit the clubs in Manhattan . One evening we arrived at this club uptown that was jumping and people were all dancing. My sister Eileen had taught me to dance as a kid. I was a fairly good dancer in 75 and started dancing to this song with a lovely blond woman (name long forgotten) and later her lady friends joined my group at our table. I always had the gift of gab and we talked late into the night. It turned out they were all stewardes for Pan Am on layover and the one I danced with was on flights to Vietnam. So every time I hear this disco song played it brings me back to that night. Cheers Mike
@swissaroo Жыл бұрын
I remember flying with Pan Am from Australia to the US to attend a seminar in Chicago and another in Dallas. On the leg from Chicago to Dallas where the second software seminar was being held, I met an employee of Pan Am in business class who was very friendly and asked me why I had chosen their airline. I said I was a diehard fan of 2001 A Space Odyssey and having studied aeronautics at university as well I simply had to fly Pan Am. LOL I was asked what other cities I was flying to next and said I would be flying to New York where I would then catch a flight to Zurich to go skiing in Switzerland. He said he would upgrade my ticket from business to first-class from New York to Zurich at no cost. I didn't think he would actually follow through with it and had forgotten about it. After arriving in New York, I didn't have to collect my luggage as it was booked all the way to Zurich from Dallas. Upon arriving at the gate to obtain a boarding pass I was told my ticket had been upgraded and I would be flying in first class. I was shocked as I suddenly remembered the Pan Am employee, I had met on the flight to Dallas, must have remembered what he had said he would do and followed through with the upgrade. I never took it seriously as I didn't think it would be possible to upgrade a business class ticket to first class. There is a significant difference between economy and business class in terms of comfort and perks but an even more significant difference in comfort, quality of meals and service in first class. On that leg I met an American Biotech Venture Capitalist who was fascinating to listen to. This was in the late 80's and I was still very young. He was surprised I was flying first-class, but I didn't tell him I had been upgraded as I was not certain how he would take it as he would have had to pay the full fare of a first-class ticket at that time in the late 80s. That was still prior to the Internet Web 1.0 era when on another trip in the mid 90s I was actually flying to the US again to attend an Internet trade show in New York before flying on to Switzerland again for some skiing. Unfortunately, by then Pan Am was no longer in service as it had filed for bankruptcy in 1991 if I recall correctly, and I didn't meet an employ of the airline I flew with on that occasion. So, this song always makes me remember Pan Am for a different reason - I got to travel first-class on their airline and enjoyed the quality of service. It is sad that the airline struggled to survive the oil crisis, and union issues it had. On the internal flights within the US, I was surprised how old the stewardesses were compared to other airlines. It seems the unions would not allow the airline to hire younger flight attendants, which would have lowered their costs and had to retain the older workers until they practically reached retirement age. Only in first-class they were younger than business or economy.

@KittyGrizGriz that you for your kind words. I could have known him back then as I was dancing all over Germany. If I had met you I would have taken you out for a spin or two around the dance floor. Would have been a Great time. ♥️ Happy New Year. ✌️ 🖖🤟

I proclaim this the greatest video ever made. Damn, the women of the 70's took care of themselves. I agree with Mr. Bishop, where's the time machine?

what about men? what about the nasty fast food large portion sugar diet that the west now has? if anything, more people take care of themselves now (veganism, yoga, etc) than in the 70s (where it required effort to waste yourself)

@@kn00tcn Hardley anyone was chuby in the 70's. If you where, you where shunned. Today, every woman has a chubby booty. Ya, some are in shape, but with all the great foods and exercise, why are more people obese? Women today, just wash there hair, maybe, and just go. No styling or care of it. Women of the 70's took care of themselves. If you want to throw men in there too, you can. With all the hair treatments today available. Men just go bald or get crew cuts. the 70's ruled. Sorry. Then again, I'm not.

Nawh, the early '70s was good, but the music started to suck after that when disco came around. The only good thing that can be said about disco is that it wasn't as bad as *rap* / *hip-hop* .

Yep, 70's kid here, and I still listen to that music. The Bee-Gees were the heat, it was hard Not to learn how to dance when such whimsical tunes were on. I almost relish the cheesy side of the music, anyone could dance and roller skate to it, and just have a good time.
