That was great. Greg should consider that many don't train to failure because it is an idiot proof protocol, they use linear progression and failure just happens. If I'm consistently hitting 10 reps to failure, my goal is always to hit 11 reps not fail on rep 10 or even rep 11.. If someday I'm able to break past the 10 reps and have the ability to get 11 + 1 more I'll stop at 11. I hit a PR, which is the goal not failure. Save the 12 rep set for next time. Again, never intending to fail.

there is a common misconception with james krieger's s-curve: it states the hypertrophic potential of the SET depending on the number of reps shy of failure. the model of chris states the hypertrophic potential of the current REP depending on the number of reps shy of failure.

aLeYoMaXo a beginner doesn’t know when they are at an RPE 6 vs 10, or when they have 1 RIR or 5. Just can’t tell

@@wooonaychaboy-hf3iv how are you meant to know what 2 from fail feels like unless you have actually failed? and not just once you have to do this repeatedly to get a tru understanding of it
