With some help from a viewer and some digging/research from myself, I was able to find more abandoned structures that I never knew existed. Everyone knows that Centralia Pa is the famous Ghost Town that has an underground mine fire, but most people focus on Graffiti highway. Well in this video we will show you three different locations that are rarely, if ever seen before in other videos. So come along with me as we explore these rare abandoned finds in America's most famous Ghost Town, Centralia Pa. Enjoy

Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

That "big concrete tank" is a Dorr Thickener. It is a device used in many industries to reclaim (usually) water which has suspended contaminants in it. Coal breakers used these all the time to clean and reclaim their water, to cut down usage, and to clean the dirty water containing coal particulates. The "rakes" inside the tank helped the settled sediment down to a sludge tank in the sloping center, and then the water was siphoned or flowed off the top back into the system. If you remember, both St Nicholas and the Huber breaker had these on-site, very close to the breakers. There used to be active mining and actual blasting right where you were there a decade or so ago. That was the location of the old Big Mine Run colliery which serviced a Locust Mountain 28-foot seam of the Mammoth Vein which runs under Centralia.

JPVideos 2 years ago, almost to the day. I noticed some things missing from my prior visit a few years before like the bench with their zip code which was revoked and the time capsule had been dug up. I looked into it and found out most of the paper in the time capsule was destroyed by water. That was a bummer bc it would’ve been fascinating to see some of the old newspapers and such. Also in a matter of years I swear graffiti highway collected so much more graffiti there wasn’t a square inch of space lol. That water treatment plant you found was so cool. I’d love to see that in person. Fascinating!

I like how strong brick structures can be, a house in my hometown is still standing after 150 years.. well it's been there since the 1860's.. before that it was a log cabin.. converted into a 2 story brick mansion, found it in 2013 and it was standing tall with unbroken windows.. over the years watched it fall apart.. 2015 the front wall collapsed and it got slammed by vandals.. luckily the most valuable stuff was taken by the family of the family that last was there.. I actually dug up history on it so it holds a special place in my heart.. It's still standing today as far as I know.. I saw it last summer and it was still standing but more of it collapsed.. and the windows began breaking from the shifting of the building... and some of it is done by vandals.. the second floor is barely hanging up but it doesn't stop people from going inside..

I'm betting your friend was joking when said "if the mice were alive I'd take them home to her snake" I have many many reptiles I tend to and just a tidbit of information you never want to bring food from the wild as you never know what the food has eaten or run through, etc. It's unsafe also because of parasites. I loved the drone footage and overall the video! I just wanted to put that out there in case someone sees this and attempts it.

Jay, I'm pretty sure that area could be documented,. That tank looks like some kind of water purification system I watched the area in Hawaii today that was destroyed by lava 2 years ago, and plants and trees are returning to that devastated area. Nature has a way of covering our structures.. It's happened throughout history. Fields in England were once Roman towns, Empires crumble into dust and are lost from memory. Who know what is buried in the sand of the Sahara. We do know thtat it was once a huge area of rivers and lakes. Cheers, Rik Spector

Just an FYI, the wind turbines are part of Locust Ridge Wind Farm. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locust_Ridge_Wind_Farm. The area where the baseball field and basketball courts are is where the school was once located. Back in the 30's and 40's it was called Hubert Eicher High School.

Wow this was really cool, I do think the buildings you found in the woods had to do with coal mining. I believe that because one of the coal mining tours you took us on I remember they said they used pigeons to test the oxygen levels down in the mine. If those were pigeon cages in the basement area then that would make sense. The water treatment plant was awesome find too. I can't believe how it's still intact. You think with the federal government imminent domain going on there they would of tore it down once it was abandoned. Great video Jay.

What a fun video! The ending, ha, ha, ha.👍🤗 You could gather some pine needles & boil them in water for pine tea. You can eat every part of a Dandeyline flower & if you take the roots and roast them, then grind them up with a stick you can make a type off coffee without the caffeine. Granddad made wine with them 😁. While you're filming out there in the woods & by water falls it's nice to know about helpful plants that one could eat, just saying. You show & teach us about neat things so it's fun to share. The Army taught me about 25 plants that can be eaten, some with way more vitamins then store bought stuff. I know you don't like veggies Jay but some wild plants actually taste very good and in a pinch can help one stay alive till one finds help.😁

You gyes are so funny, born is the 1800 love it.You gyes have a blast together and that makes it fun for us to watch and laugh at. So funny. I was surprised that the rusty tank was not spray painted. Can't believe that all that was just left that way. Normally they should have been required to fill like the tank , holes etc. To keep anyone, especially kids from getting trapped or drowned in them.

Wayback in the day I dated a girl up that way. I remember driving up 61 I think that’s the name of the road to see her with fire coming out of the ground on the side all the way up the road. Was crazy! At night everything would glow on the side of the road.

Very cool... After seeing some televised versions of the town (mysteries of the abandoned), the impression was given that the place was completely razed after the residents were relocated. More than likely to keep people from destroying what was left...too bad it's going to be now.

There are actually close to 40 underground coal mine fires burning in PA and 100's of underground coal mine fires around the world. This one is one of the only ones that effected an entire community tho.

Some of the houses that still remain deserted you can see the old hot water tanks that used coal and the boilers and stoves that used coal. I remember schools, hospitals, everyone used coal till the late 90s

I propose the next to Centralia, we'll further preserve the Todd Domboski subsidence location, and hike Railroad Avenue. Maybe we will find remnants of the railroad tracks going toward Mount Carmel, and / or going further past the abandoned brick building to what I believe is the Centralia colliery.

That long various building structures seem like they were for "maintenance " types of equipment and materials. Was it ever a park reserves at some point? Curious because there's obvious road/trails that they were riding the bikes and off road vehicles. Very curious.

Think its very smart to use old rail road ties for support, those are metal and will last forever, I would say excellent idea. That tunnel or hole in the ground was weird and when you looked into purty scary, don't know where that would go to. Centralia has a lot of history with the fire and all. Why would there be soda pop cans in plastic bags, here in Minnesota take them to the recyclying center and get money for them so much per pound. I would never climb that rust tank. That person has more courage than I could ever muster up.
