Never was owned by any person, but was financed by a investments corporation and assigned for use for the return of investment from MGM studios.This structure was used ofr numerous movies. One I watched recently was made I believe in 1958 (and shockingly this is a 1950s structure along with its features. The last movie that showed parts taken in this structure starred Walter Mathau portraying the role of a an black mailing a man that was cheating on his wife. Those mattresses are where filming camera staff as well as some of the actors could freshen up,being just 30 minutes of a one and a half hour movie can consist of 30 days. MGM investors didnt care about the 250K spent on that when their return for just one movie brought them an entire 50 million dollars based on some 30% earning for their share. The toys scattered about? Simply people living there illegally No paint on the exterior? Because MGM didnt want to attract attention and during the movies that were made the stars and filming took place in homes in other areas that were leased. Now you know the stor. Many of these are located under ground in whats called area 51 and the UFO is a hoax only to keep people out and to make them believe its military based property. The dick van dyke show is one of may that were filmed in area 51 and above ground but covered by military tin buidings. Area 51 is simply hollywood filming area and for comercials houses under ground and many other places

The “Self Esteem” butterfly sticker comes from the clothing line of the same name. It was available in J. C. Penney department stores in the 1990’s. The butterfly logo glitter stickers were part of the label on each item. #funfacts From the front windows and mold, I’d say this house has suffered severe storm damage- explaining the poor condition. The Spanish-style tile visible on the floor from the entrance back toward the kitchen was the height of “in” style in the late 90’s along with the stainless door handles. The laminate built-ins with stainless hardware are also typical of late 1990’s higher end decore; and the rich blue master bath tile would also date from about 1995. The linen closet with the heat lamp was super odd. I have never seen that, and I’ve seen a lot. Unless it’s meant to warm snow jackets before going out or blankets for guests, I cannot understand it. Frankly, the style of the house has a very “Miami Vice” look. You’re in upstate NY, but that home was white everywhere, Spanish floor tile, and Mediterranean tile in the Master Bath - typical of Miami design in the mid to late 90’s.

It's hard to speculate on the history of this house. Everyone seems to have noticed some of the obvious - 'oddities' - such as the many mattresses, and the toys (even their relative condition compared to the rest of the house); the commercial feel of some of the fixtures and furnishings such as switches. Two large 'master's bedrooms'. Padlocks and locks on various doors, seeming to indicate that rooms were locked from the outside. That this is remote and the money obviously invested in it sort of indicate that this being a typical shelter, orphanage, etc is unlikely. But here's what I noticed, and thought as I watched. There was a very institutional feel - like private institution. Toward the beginning of the video, before he got to the kitchen, he panned across two adjoining rooms, and there was a 'window' between them. This reminded me of an institution I worked in which meds were kept in a 'room' about the size of a large closet, and the person administering the meds would hand them out the 'window' to the patients. The one room had shelves in it. The other was a large open room - like a 'rec room'. The bedrooms with single mattresses - seemed dorm like. Each had their own bathrooms. I would not rule out trafficking. But honestly this is more like a privately funded institution. I've worked in them, and in our area we have one that is ran for rich families that want to stash away mentally ill family members (that still happens :( ). Just some thoughts.

*_+JPVideos_* So, this is just a theory, as everyone has had one, and I don't wish to dismiss anyone's "creep feels" about the place, but here it is: It _could_ have been some kind of vacation rental retreat, Bed & Breakfast sort of set-up, and/or meant for multiple people groups, family reunion style guests, or friend groups, etc., who wanted to spend a week or more away from civilization and hustle and bustle, while not really giving up the comforts of a modern and nice place to stay. Peaceful, or at the least, mostly private and secluded. What could have been the ultimate downfall was that black mold began inside the walls, eventually working its way outward. Literally eating away the house, and contaminating everything inside of it. People may have actually gotten sick, and it could have caused inspections and investigations. I will also say that it has to be the strangest architectural floor plan design I have ever seen. Really odd. Poorly built? It appeared to me that many of the ceilings, walls, floors, appliances and fixtures were intentionally torn out and perhaps documented for insurance and/or lawsuit inspections. It seemed methodical in certain areas where the black mold was most likely to be found in walls, floors, ceilings, etc. It just seems too strange that some places were torn out that way. For what purpose? All of that mold is also a very good reason for you adventurous explorers to wear protective gear (gloves, suits, breathing protection). Just looking out for you! ;) Most of the things left behind and abandoned, as well as more things that I wonder what they ultimately did with, such as bedding, sheets, pillows, curtains, etc. None could ever be "cleaned up" and reused anywhere else, just like all the mattresses, etc.-- _and_ those things are very expensive to be disposed of, just call your local landfill to see. Naturally, many people may say that all of the damage, decay and mold came _after_ the abandonment of the dwelling, and of course that is absolutely possible. But it is also possible that it began when occupied, ultimately caused the abandonment of the business venture, or whatever it was called. Black mold slowly sickens or kills people in nice homes in the middle of towns or in the city. It is not so far of a reach to expect it could happen in such an isolated area, especially if conditions are always humid. So, that is just a more "sanitized" and different type of _disgusting_ theory that looks in a different direction from a more sinister and nefarious explanation. It is not out of the realm of possibility that it was used for one or more of the horrific hypotheses posted. I just thought I'd share a different point of view, even if it does not carry any of the creepy feelings with it. More just "icky" in another way. Thanks for sharing your adventure and discovery. What an adventurous job (or hobby?)! Be safe out there! Thanks for letting me share one possibility of a different sort. ~Peace!

The numbers written on the bathrooms one had 1 - 3, another said 8 - 10, makes me think it was assigned bathrooms to rooms. Treatment center (my home town has one that is a historic home that is mom's with kids) or group home that was converted from a private home, which is why I think it has some of the really nice fixtures like the cigar humidor and expensive bathroom with a bidet.
@melissabeckhaus33644 жыл бұрын
I agree, and to add, the numbers you see written on the walls was probably written by insurance adjusters so they can identify which walls were in which rooms. It certainly looks like black mold devoured this building. Could have been part of the "sick house syndrome". Which was soon to become a great epidemic in American building. I estimate this house was built in the 60's, judging from the central vac, the central stereo system and the prairie style windows.

There was something going on there that would probably curl your toes ...I think you should call attention to this to the sheriff of this county , district , whatever ...the amount of mold there could give you a permanent lung problem ..get an inexpensive respirator for places like this ...just the seclusion , with all the signs of children raises my hackles ...I think it's very important for authorities to investigate this .
@hankbridges50555 жыл бұрын

agreed. I cant think of any other reason as to why so many twin beds would be in such a secluded and hidden home and how majority of the belongings found were all children's items.

They've found something like this south of us/ phoenix and one in new mexico. Human trafficking babies and children.
@megancasey51224 жыл бұрын
Maybe because twin beds cost like $60 and queen and kings are 3x to 10x that amount, they left the twin mattresses and box springs but took the larger mattresses- except the two in the most mold over grown rooms? The guy set the scene as being creepy and pointed out the mattresses so now everybody has their panties in a twist. My mom owns a 55,000 sq ft home with 5 rooms that could be bedrooms but only 3 are used as bedrooms as 2 are offices and she has accumulated so many mattresses from adult children moving and her own downsizing and upsizing of homes she probably has like 10 queen size mattresses. That doesn't mean that if she died and someone found her home abandoned with all the mattresses left inside that she was human trafficking...

@@megancasey5122 Ya, but she didn't live right in the middle of a forest and, also...how do you know for sure? I had a house that big once and when I moved I took "everything" with me. Who doesn't? That's pretty much what makes this house so damn creepy.
@windangel77204 жыл бұрын
That house was built for somebody with money. You entered by what was obviously the servant's entrance. The first room with the intercom panel was probably the housekeeper's bedroom, next to it, her bathroom and private kitchen like how Alice's bedroom was just off the kitchen in the Brady Bunch house. The built-in sound system, sauna and wine cellar all scream, "money".The furniture and mattresses left behind don't look expensive, but they would have taken their good stuff with them. As for all the beds- that house is very secluded, maybe they would give parties or family celebrations like Christmas and have their guests stay over rather than sending them far away to a hotel. Funny how they never painted the walls and there is no sign of paintings or wall hangings anywhere. Perhaps it was a vacation home, or the family bought a property that was too big for their budget? The child's Playboy bunny hat is creepy, but I don't get the impression that anything disgusting happened there. Some people just have twisted imaginations and like to project darkness where there isn't any. What a waste of an interesting house, I could have done SO MUCH with that.

Incredible find!! I have a different outlook than most. I didn’t find it creepy at all, but of course I wasn’t there. I think it was once a single family home with a lot of children. It actually reminds me of Edward Cullen’s family’s home in the “Twilight” Movies! Then I think they either took in foster children which would explain having all the extra mattresses, folding bed frames and baby beds/cribs to accommodate a lot of kids, plus all the toys/toy closet, or maybe a Safe House for battered women with children. They could put however many beds needed in a room so mom and kids could stay together. Maybe the mold issue is what forced the abandonment. Whatever the situation was this was an excellent explore!! I find it weird that so many people jump to conclusions that this was linked to pedophile rings, child pornography or human trafficking, just because there were toys and mattresses around. Almost every abandoned house has mattresses in weird places, because homeless people move in. If this was abandoned in 2006, I figure many people must've moved in and out of this house in 14 years. It's not hard to imagine that one child in a house this big would've left his toys everywhere. There are so many possibilities...

Agree. Could have been a group home or had lots of fosters etc. people just want to creep themselves out. My first thought was a large foster group home, possibly for kids with special needs to be taught basic tasks like cooking, cleaning and being able to function semi independently. There are good people who run homes like that so that the children are more adoptable or can live with roommates and hold remedial jobs when they age out of foster care

Annette Moreau it looks like most of the plumbing has been scavenged from the house for copper. If it’s well or artesian water, the water would continue to flow when the pipes were cut. 13 years of abandonment do not bring that kind of rot. With a metal roof in place it should have dated dry inside so I’m betting this is water intrusion due to cut plumbing. I hate seeing houses left to rot like this. Especially when there's so much homeless people. Maybe it was used to give child carers a break or something like that. Hope nothing bad happened. The location is amazing. Would love live in a similar setting.

This was probably very nice at one time. I love Mid Centry Modern homes. They are artsy and strange. Seems like this was used as a Group home possibly.

It would be so amazing if the previous owners saw this and responded.... like you idiots. We were trying to have an amazing bed and breakfast when our accountant stole everything. Or yep we are in jail for human trafficking as that's the reason we had this house. Either way, it would be awesome.

The maze of rooms is odd. The amount of mattresses is confusing. I guess you would need an intercom sys in a place that huge. Yes! I was thinking orphanage also! If so, there should be records. The stuffed Elmo, sponge bob book and Polly pocket and various toys are sad to see. Whoever built it obviously had money. The blue tile in the bathroom reminded me of the bathroom in Mommy Dearest! Please let us know if you dig up any info. It must of been something to see in its time. Amazing how nature will take back.

Hi Jay, at 15:21 you missed the strangely placed looking axe, it looks like a fireman's axe and it does have a red colour on the top of the handle, blood ??, paint ??. It just looks creepy to me why a fireman's type axe is next to a baby crib :(. A very strange place but I bet it was stunning when first built. Thanks for sharing. x

If i had my guess it looks like a rehab type facility or something along those lines. Rooms with individual bathrooms and PA systems in each room. Large boiler room. Seems to make most sense to me
@selfstarter63125 жыл бұрын
Except that I have worked in every type of residential facility as a nurse: forensic, drug, alcohol and eating disorders rehab, psychiatric adult, geriatric and teenage, celebrity mental hospital, medical school for developmentally disabled people, spinal injury rehab, Alzheimer's care, and for each one there are glaring no-no's you would never see in them. You don't have spiral stairs or windows to the ground 2 floors below in a place for old people, little kids, blind people, or mentally ill people....etc. I don't know what was going on there but it would be a large strange family or group of families with odd or creepy hobbies. The one thing that MIGHT fit is a creepy crazy religious compound or "end of the world cult...and why did they leave? If they lost the property to a group break-up or foreclosure, just maybe...but religious cults also often have Overlord-like leaders and lots of sick things going on with kids, too. And many things don't match them, either.
