you need add 1-2mm of dead band to your throttle linkage to ensure your carb is fully closed off throttle. Engine should idle the same off throttle and when brakes are applied. Also add a few more rubber bands to the carb to help it close completely shut when you get off throttle.

but first check your throttle linkage , and throttle endpoint on your radio make sure your throttle servo is closing the card all the way , if the run on continues, then the bottom end is to lean

OK, so what are you hearing that is telling you that? I am still learning how to tune a nitro engine. Thanks for the comment. What do you think of the JQ method? It makes sense in my head and alot of others?

Engine will run on like that if you're card isn't closing all the way at neutral or when you let off the trigger, and when it's lean on the bottom end the engine will come down to normal Rpms then rise by up ,especially when you are in the air off a jump, and you're nose of your car raises, The JQ is good ,but you may have to adjust because of different temperature, especially racing at day and at night, indoor and outdoor, but it's very good starting point

@@RcOffroad9513Sounds like you’re almost certainly too lean on the low speed needle, hence why the idle runs on. Also, your idle seems REALLY high, as in too many rpm’s. That’s how my car runs when I’ve got about 10% or so throttle applied. Have you done a pinch test, to see just how lean your low end is? It’s possibly the easiest and most reliable way to determine the low speed setting. Also, if you want a very good tuning guide, download the manual from ANY OS Speed buggy engine from the past 10-15 years. It works for every brand of engine and is super easy to follow, very straight forward. Definitely make sure you do a pinch test, and soon. You’re definitely too lean down low. One last thing, the slide gap is NOT an air gap, it’s an idle gap. The gap isn’t just for air, if it was, it’d make all engines run super lean, it’s for air AND fuel, which is why it’s referred to as an idle gap, not to mention, adjusting said gap will also adjust the idle speed.

@@RcOffroad9513 really heat up the engine block with the sleeve in it with a heat gun to 400-500degrees use a wooden stick or rod to push sleeve out, though the opening of the backplate
