I really hope the next of movie SS Rajamouli with SSMB is made within 300cr. A budget of 800 cr seems quite outrageous to me if I were to be honest. If a movie like RRR with two big stars is still struggling to break even in a few areas, a movie made out of 800cr is stands no chance in fetching profits to the distributors. PS: Hardcore fan of SSMB

@@pampashetty5349 Well, Bahubali was made out of 180cr (dont know why they are saying it was a 180cr film now but before its release they told it was a 120-150cr movie) and KGF2 was done in just 100cr. I do agree that granduer and scale of the movie matters a lot. But frankly speaking RRR didnt look like a movie made on a budget 3 times that of Bahubali. Certainly didnt look like a film that was made on budget of 500-550cr. At the end of the day, the financial well being of the exhibitors and distributors matters. When it comes to big movies, poducers are always at table profit before the release itself but if things go south, the distributors suffer the losses big time. And from the way I see it, the best we can do from a straight film is 800-1000cr(probably 500cr share). Bahubali 2 had the advantage of being a sequel. So it could collect 1700cr gross. The only movie that has a similar hype is KGF2. Remaining movies just dont stand a chance. So the safe budget is 300-350cr even for a pan india movie. Anything beyond that budget is a big risk

@I hate trolls Well, looks were never an issue for Mahesh. The problem is with his performances in the recent past. I guess he is being severely under utilised. Having said that, he can always surprise us with his performance given that the director utilises his potential. Khaleja is one such revelation and there are a lot of examples which proves that'll he is one of the best actors of this generation. Lets hope SS Rajamouli brings us back that vintage Mahesh Babu. Been sick and tired of his monotonous and expressionless acting in the past few years.
