Trains arriving and departing from the Tohoku, Hokkaido, Akita, Yamagata, Joetsu, and Hokuriku Shinkansen trains arrive and depart at the Shinkansen platform at JR Omiya Station in Japan (weekdays, morning hours, around 9:30 to 12:00).
Tohoku Shinkansen "Hayabusa" (E5 series), "Yamabiko" (E5 and E2 series), "Nasuno" (E5 series), Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen direct "Hayabusa" (H5 series and E5 series), "Hayabusa" Akita Shinkansen "Komachi" (E6 series), Yamagata Shinkansen "Tsubasa" (E3 series), Joetsu Shinkansen "Toki" and "Tanigawa" (E2 series E7 series), The Hokuriku Shinkansen "Kagayaki", "Hakutaka", and "Asama" (E7 series and W7 series) are shown.
There are 3 island-style 6-track platforms from Platforms 13 to 18, and trains use Platforms 13-15 going up and Platforms 16-18 going down. The platform in the middle consists of platform 15 and platform 16, both of which only serve some trains. Since there are few departures and arrivals, and you can see the Shinkansen in both directions from the middle of the up and down lines, it is guided as a Shinkansen viewing place, and the timetable that shows the vehicle type is also attached.
E6 series (7 cars) for "Komachi" are often operated together with "Hayabusa" E5 series (10 cars), but all 17 E6 + E5 series trains are operated as "Yamabiko". One is also shown.
