I enjoyed the review. Endless giggles are what these cars are all about. But yes, stickshift FTW. I had a ton of fun with my last Z, a 350 Roadster MT. The interior sucked but the engineering Nissan put into the powertrain was impressive and I never once had an issue despite constant thrashing. Looking at a nearly new 370 today with all packages, gotta get those giggles going again. These cars are an excellent value.

for the haters of the automatic, the 2018 ford/GM 10speed auto, if you say oh auto are shitty etc then you need to get on your own rock on your on island and let everybody post faster drag times. If you want to be an enthusiast buy a 2004 cobra manual, why pick a manual over the new 10speed auto in 2018? when you are simply getting LESS on purpose..this manual vs auto shit is just becoming stupid by the years..lots of European Sports cars, (the real true sports cars btw) are coming in pure auto only due to performance

Ppl just can’t think for themselves . They see that the majority of the car community hates on autos so they do also . To each their own . Both have their advantages . I love manual simply for the drivers experience but you can never go wrong with an auto

I just got an automatic base 370z and I got on it a little in auto and it took off quick and then pressed harder and all of a sudden it redlined for a few seconds and then it switched to a higher gear - can this hurt the engine if you redline it in auto or will the auto switch it quick to a higher gear without roasting the engine ?

Nah you should be fine. Automatic transmissions are programmed not to exceed the choke point of the redline. It’s almost impossible to over rev on an automatic trans so no worries

with the shift paddles i can assume you can put the car in manual shift mood, can you switch the gears in manul mode with the automatic shifter? or can you only use the paddles to shift

I’m actually 5’11” when I drove the 370z it was small because overall it’s a small car. However, I felt pretty comfortable in it!!
